Once you get the hang of it....
Took me awhile to learn to use them and I had to look at the photo online again a few times (just a few). Once I got the hang of it though, they work great. It's not complicated, just needs to be set up right. Use the pictures maybe once or twice and you'll be a pro. I've used it on two camp trips so far this season and they are great little tools that make set easy.

Great tensioners
These work very well for guy lines and ridge lines with a large camping family we use them for tarps, tents, hammocks and all things that need tensioner tie downs

The open stripe ones are excellent, the closed snail ones are useless
The closed "snail" adjusters, aka "loop alien" knockoffs are just not worth using. You need to commit so much more rope to make them work and there are scenarios when they're very unpractical. The open "stripe" adjusters are outstanding however. They grip perfectly, but can so easily be deployed in any scenario, with minimal rope.

Perfect
Product worked as described and I was surprised how many I received for the price. Super happy we used these on our last camping trip and they worked like a charm.

Bar Tensioner Can Work - Loop Alien Difficult to Remember
I've found the bar tensioner to work, but the "smoothness" of the edges and surface give me concern for slippage if, for example, someone trips on a guy line or walks into a ridge line or tie-out line, causing the line to spring and vibrate. The Loop Alien works very well in the several modes you can view on YouTube and duplicate as you watch and for a few hours after. Problem is that (in my opinion) you seem to need to practice every day to make the use of this device "muscle memory". I admit that although I'm older, I still have a pretty good memory, but if a week goes by or longer and I haven't practiced, I forget how to "use it". Add to that, there are much easier ways to tension and lock ridge lines and tie-out lines. That said, I'm pretty much done with Loop Aliens.

Lightweight, strong holding strength
Bought a few different types. See photo. Each has different characteristics. I like the middle one the best for its balance between strengths.
