Nice keyboard cover
This works great...covers letters that have worn off the key. The only concern is that I can't see the lighted caps key when I am typing all caps. Other than that....great item!

Perfect fit and thickness
After dropping a lot of money on a new computer - and a few years after I killed a nearly-new laptop by baptizing it with a cup of hot tea - I was also ready to upgrade my keyboard cover. I actually had one that was still in one piece, but it was old and had become so warped it wouldn't lay flat on the keyboard - not to mention, all the lettering had worn away. It slid over the keyboard because it bubbled up over several keys - all in all, it was done and I was over it.I looked at the reviews on this one and despite claims it didn't fit everyone's machine, I decided to give it a shot. And I'm so glad I did! This is a lightweight rubberized cover which lies flush over your laptop keyboard. It doesn't use glue or fasteners, which would harm the machine you paid a lot of money for. The material has a mild cling tendency, though it isn't sticky. I'd had the previous cover at least a couple of years, and it never fit as well as this one does. These things are such an inexpensive way to protect your investment, if/when this cover wears out I'll simply order another. It keeps dust, crumbs, and the errant liquid from seeping between the keys, where they contribute to a shorter machine life.I'll be saving this to my favorites because I plan to order another of these down the line, when I'm ready.

Pretty good cover for a low price
It does the job pretty well. No, it doesn't extend much beyond the edge of the keyboard but it would provide reasonable protection for many spill situations. At least the spill would be prevented from going through the main part of the keyboard. Since I often eat in and around the laptop, the cover is great for keeping crumbs and seeds out from between the keys.Having never used a keyboard cover before I wasn't sure how I'd react to it. I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed to actually improve the feel of the keyboard. It's like the nonslip surface makes my fingers stay on the keys better. It "adheres" to the keys well enough that it doesn't slip when I'm typing. Of course, if you pick the laptop up and turn it on edge the cover will shift and you'll have to reposition it when you start working again.I'd give it 5 stars if if completely covered the edge of the keyboard a bit more so that spills were totally prevented.

I opened mine and put it on super easy and the folds came out on their own ...
I don't think the manufacturer should ship these folded up, but the material seems to be just heavy enough that any creases it gets from packaging will flatten out really quickly (Mind you not all of these are packaged the same so if you get one with creases that don't come out, definitely exchange). I opened mine and put it on super easy and the folds came out on their own just fine. It covers the keyboard perfectly. Those of you wondering about backlit keyboards; if you order the clear one like I did you can see the backlighting very nicely without any trouble. (See my attached photo). I haven't noticed any residue on my screen when the laptop is closed so that's a plus for me. I am not sure why some of the reviews on here say there isn't as much overlay on the edges. The edges on mine come out far enough that there are no gaps to allow debris under the outer edges of the keyboard (see photo). Perhaps those reviewers made a compatibility mistake or entered the wrong computer model to make sure this product fit? I have a Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 series laptop with 10-key pad keyboard. It fits perfectly. So perfectly I will be surprised if anything can get underneath this cover. It's been a couple months and I still highly recommend this product. For the money, it's perfect.

Must have been on a diet!
I bought my first one of these in 2017. The rubber isn't very durable, but even with all my typing, it lasted about 9 months. So not bad for the price, though I'd pay more for a more durable material. The second one lasted about a year and nine months (based on the order date of this third one). But it did take me a few months after some of the "keys" were worn and even holy (with holes, not prone to prayer - see first pic) before I got around to ordering the third one, so I can't say exactly how long #2 lasted.I just got #3 in the mail and was excited to finally have my keyboard protected again! My excitement lasted until I got the cover out of the package and started putting it on... to the keyboard, that is.I want to know whatever diet they put this thing on because it is SMALLer! You can see in the picture of the overlay how much bigger this keyboard cover used to be. Now the border is almost non-existent, to the point where the tiniest of imperfections causes a "lift" by the left Ctrl key. On the old version it would be fine, but with this minimal border you can actually see the key under the cover. If any liqud spills there it will go directly to the left Ctrl key. Unless it spills up by the End key because there is a little lift there, too!I'm less disappointed in the imperfections (they happen) than I am in the company's apparent decision to cut costs by making the cover smaller. Snickers has done it, M&M's have done it, Nalley's chili has done it... but they don't protect my keyboard.I'd be ok getting a new cover every year. Even every six months, if it covered the area it used to and was just made thinner so it didn't last as long. I could live with that. But as-is, I don't see it protecting my keyboard. I'll talk to the company and am willing to give it a shot, but am going to be looking around to see what alternatives there are.I did add a star to adhesion because it sticks fine to the keyboard; it just doesn't cover it all.
