KAKA INDUSTRIAL W-2420A 24-Inch Pan and Box Brake, 20 Gauge Sheet Metal Brake, 5 Adjustable Removable Fingers for Precision Bending

This is a nice little brake! I will admit that I didn't have very high expectations when ordering. I regularly work with metalworking equipment from Roper Whitney, Pexto, Tennsmith and others. I figured if this got me through the job and then became a boat anchor, I would come out ok.What happened was quite the opposite. I was immediately impressed by the fit and finish of the brake. The machined surfaces were smooth, and the paint held up very well. It took only minor adjustment right out of the box to get some nice clean bends in 22 ga. steel and .040" aluminum. I greased it up with some proper grease on the pivot points and got right to work.It worked beautifully. I C-clamped it to the workbench because my intention was that I was going to use it for a one-and-done job. By the time I was done though, I decided that I will fab up a proper stand and give it a home among my other tools.Truth be told, if you can get passed that fact that one of your tools has Kaka on it, you will have yourself a nice little brake.10/10, would buy again!I am impressed enough that I will be purchasing their HS-8 shear and hoping for the same quality I found in this brake.

Very fast delivery. The shipping company they used was great. Contacted me a day before delivery to confirm address and hours someone would be there too. Arrived in a secure wooden box well packaged. The brake itself is well made for it's cost. Not intended for heavy or production style use obviously. But overall construction is pretty good. User instructions are vague but can be figured out easily. I started using this brake right out of the box. Very well satisfied. Good job Guys !!!

This is a solid brake. 500 lbs.It took 4 of us to get it on the table.Seems well made, I had make a few adjustments to get it right, but it came pretty close for the 28 gauge that I use for metal ductwork.8/10 good value.

No quality control , how does this happen? Received on a Friday after waiting 5 business days ..only ONE part to assemble the handle and behold the female threads walls wasn’t even tapped right the threads were all burgered up like someone tried to screw the handle it in and knew that it wasn’t right ...the threaded end on the handle showed signs of cross threading...disappointing now do I wait for a replacement or pay a welder to attach the handle ...save your money on this Chinese crap.

I was a bit hesitant because the price was half of what others charge, but to my surprise, this thing is actually really nice. I’ve been bending metal doing hvac about 28 years. My most recent brake for home was the Klutch from Northern Tools. It was ok for $800, but this KAKA brake definitely blows it out of the water. There’s really no comparison, this is a heavy duty brake with much better adjustment mechanisms, and the weight is significantly greater. I’ve already made some fittings with it and love it! I didn’t need to make any adjustments other than the sheet steel thickness. With the Klutch, it needed a lot of adjustments, and I still never got it right.

The machine is robust enough to process stainless steel parts gauge 26. Our project requires to bend a small part (lets say 4 inches long by 2 inches wide) to build a kind of little box. What I can say... the size it is perfect for our needs, compact ans easy to use. Results are awesone! By the way, the tools available are 4, 3, 2 and 1 inch wide, if you need something special, it is neccesary to make a custom tool for your needs. For our project, we made another 1.5 inches wide tool and it is working very well. Very happy with this little bender machine.

I was really pleased with this brake until I tried using it. I found that the mounting points for the fingers are not adjustable and you can't mount one finger in place of another. In other words you can't combine the 10 inch finger and the 2 inch finger. You can only mount the fingers in there original positions. If I'm wrong please correct me (and explain how to do it.)There is also no combination of fingers that allows you to adjust for a 7 inch or a 17 inch box. So there is a gap between 6-8 inches and 16-18 inches. I've seen examples of this brake with a larger variety of fingers but I chose this one because of price and shipping speed. Now I'm regretting it.

I'd like to preface this with the fact that I only have 1 year of shop exp. almost to date. That said, this 50" brake is sturdy, the paint looks good, welds are clean (not stacked dimes mind you, but good penetration), machined surfaces on the angle iron portion look good, all the fingers are even and mate nicely.SETUP:The only con is the lack of any installation instructions or recommendations, however, it is fairly simple even for a newbie like myself (after some head scratching). The easiest and probably safest method of lifting/moving this beast is to:1) remove all fingers with an allen head2) remove 2 rather large nuts near the bottom (the ones used to adjust the height/parallelism of the fingers to the machined surface.3) remove the whole top portion and place it somewhere safe (you may need to lift or lower the top 'clamping' handles to get it out of the groove)4) lift and place with a shop crane and a couple of buddies. Replace top portion and readjust the nuts as necessary. Done
