Q: Is this cable good enough for minn kota terrova 24v

Not sure what terra what’s it is, but I think the cable is rated for 600v, so I think it will work....however, be sure what the amps are before doing anything.

40 amps? Running amps or starting amps? Electrical equipment draws higher amperage when starting, then reduces in amperage while simply running. No idea what vfd powering is so ?? Size your cable to allow for the higher starting amperage. The starting amperage and running amperage should be on the equipment tag of the motor. The higher the temperature the lower the ampacity of the cable. There are nearly always exceptions to the codes depending on location, length of run, type of insulation, stranded or solid, use, in free air or in conduit, etc.. Since the seller does not list the ampacity of this cable, I looked at a generic ampacity table which said that #6awg cable should be good for between 55 amps in a hot environment and 70 amps in a cooler one. Simply put, there are too many variables to be able to give a simple yes or no answer to your question. So, whatever you do, make sure you have clean, tight and well insulated connections.

Depending on the trolling motor requirements. Typically, #6 copper is rated for 60 amps.

Q: Has anyone used this in a marine application? I would like to use this on my 13' Boston Whaler on a 40 hp 2 stroke motor to the battery.

There are many customers using this in marine applications. The cable is pure copper, that is not tinned, so in marine environments, the terminations need to be tinned and the transition sealed so copper is not exposed. All of our cables are done in the above manner
