Pain first then pain relief
I was recently in Europe and visited a castle that had a dungeon where some horrible acts occurred. You can imagine. While I was there I could not help thinking that this roller could be on display.I say the above as a joke, but in all honesty, this is an intense roller. Before this roller, I was using another foam roller that by comparison was very soft. It was helpful and is still worth having, but I wanted something that could dig in a little more and really hit deep muscles. I bought this roller and it does the job. I have been using this mainly on my glutes and thighs to work out some running issues. When using this roller in comparison to the soft roller, when you hit a tender spot it can be excruciating and depending on how you are working out the issues (rolling over or holding on tender spots), this can really take you to limits. I am talking the difference between fast breathing to deal with discomfort to tears in the eyes. You have to be prepared for that and know that this roller can hurt. When rolling over areas that do not have trigger points I feel that this roller feels good.Initial challenges I had was getting used to and working with the grooves and the raised areas. At first I did not like them, but eventually have come to appreciate them when you are trying to get to a problem area. The raised areas really focus a lot of pressure on specific issues like a lacrosse ball style massager or if it is too tender you can often set that area in the dip for a little less direct pressure. The grooves and ridges help you get at areas from modified angles too. It is very helpful.I have lacrosse ball style massagers too and I like them for portability. What I like about this roller is that I can use it in some areas of the glutes that I used the lacrosse balls at. So I can do some transitions to give other areas a moment while I do my work. The nature of the roller allows it to roll very easily on the surfaces I have been using it on. Hardwood floor, thin area rugs and average carpet. It work great.Overall, I am very happy with this roller and regular use in my problem areas has been helping a lot. If you have troubled areas, you need to be consistent with these rollers and do it a few times a day and try to strengthen any areas that are weak.

My favorite roller
The Rollga PRO is superior to all other foam rollers. Its "bubble-like" shape allows you to target your low and mid-back muscles more effectively than the typical cylinder type foam roller. The Rolga PRO is made of hard foam, so be mindful that it might be too much pressure for you if you are new to self-myofascial release. Start with something softer and work your way up to more of a firm roller, otherwise the pain will be too intolerable and you won't use it.I lift weights 3x a week, and I run and hike several times a week, so I'm constantly dealing with sore, tight muscles somewhere. This roller is an important part of my daily mobility routine. I love it.The roller is lightweight, and it comes with a storage strap so you can hang it on the wall, if needed.

Very firm foam roller
I really like this foam roller. I heard a huge crack when I first used it since it hit my back in a different way than my other three foam rollers. I really like the hardness of this since it really breaks down knots. The grooves also hit the muscles differently than other foam rollers. A+

Hurts so good
stiffest roller ive used, but still has the foam feel to soften the roll. grooves are great for back, protects spine and neck. not for beginners, but great for people that are used to an aggressive release.

Good product but you need other rollers in your collection
The first thing I noticed about this roller is it is much lighter than you expect. Not that I want a heavy roller, but it is somewhat light. It is not what I would call comfortable, but any person who truly needs muscle recovery knows it make take a little suffering. The design of the roller is unique and effective, but you would definitely need to use this as one of a few rollers in your collection. For me, it works best on your back and calves, and works the best on your tibialis anterior muscles. Again, I would recommend this product as one of a few in your roller collection.

Perfect for hard to adjust t spine
Very effective for daily alignment and decompression middle to upper spine and shoulders. The product is very dense yet comfortable when using due to the contours.

The best foam roller - bar none!
I have way too many foam rollers. It comes from living 15 minutes from the warehouse where Gaiam blows out all their returns and discontinued items for 70% off retail once a month. I have long foam rollers and short foam rollers. I have Restore foam rollers, trigger point foam rollers, and travel foam rollers. And since I got my Rollga, they all sit unused. The Rollga's grooves allow you to come at hotspots from both sides, and to really settle into the pressure. I've used the Rollga on my legs, my arms, and my back - and really couldn't believe how well it could dig in and break up the hotspots in my lats, after I cranked through way more pull-ups than my body was prepared to do!If that sounds like a douchey humblebrag, it's not supposed to be. I came to fitness relatively late (I'm 46), and am constantly finding ways to make myself sore (which is to say, "more than my body was prepared to do" really isn't that many!). This Rollga is part of my standard recovery arsenal. The rest of my foam rollers can just be jealous.
