In my video I opened the hood first try, then I repeatedly pulled very hard on the tab to see if it would break off. It is very durable, obviously more durable than the OEM one.If yours is broken, just pull back on the plastic panels, get some cutters and cut off most of the plastic around the hood release cable, but not all the way back so it doesn’t get sucked into the car lol, then when it’s a few inches of metal cable exposed, slide on this tab and screw in the two included Alan screws, it comes with the Alan wrench aswell

No more pliers needed! This worked on my old 99 civic where the plastic hood release had broken off - quite common. Replaced with this and I like it. Cheap enough too.Just had to remove some of the hard polymer wrapped around the latch wire so I can put this latch onto the latch wire. I used some cutters and carefully cut the polymer away. Took 5 mins.

Tool being included helped alot, only issue was getting the right angle to be able to tighten the included screws. Happy to see it is made of metal, will last longer than the OEM plastic that needed replacing.
