It is what I expected
I read the install instructions and didn't feel like I had any idea what to do. I then searched you tube for "install bakflip". The manufacturer has a great video explaining, and showing, the entire process. It's the 7 year old video from BAK Industries. After watching the video, the install was relatively easy and quick. As far as being waterproof - it hasn't rained since I installed, but I did go through the car wash. Some water got in at the rear, but not so much that I was concerned. Overall, I think the cover is a good design and made with quality materials; hopefully I feel the same way 3 years from now. Memo to BAK Industries - if your printed instructions were more like what Ikea provides, it would be a good thing.

Sturdy, perfect fit.
The BAKFlip MX4 was easy to install on my Chevy Silverado with an 8" bed, which has a vinyl bed liner. It's been in the rain and i didn't see any leakage at all. I've made a couple of furniture moves that required the cover to be rolled out of the way, some with the front panel flat, and one that needed the full bed, with the front panel raised against the cabin window. The snap latches for the flat position and the struts for the raised position both worked great. My only complaint, and the reason for four stars instead of five, may be something that can't be avoided because of differences in truck beds. When closing the cover, the side catches don't always lock on both sides at first. I have to shift the cover a bit toward the non-locked side a bit to get both sides to lock. But it's easy to do that, so that's fairly minor. Also, not really an issue to me but something to be aware of - my remote tailgate release does release the tailgate, but with the cover down there is just enough friction with the tailgate that it does not automatically lower. I have the manual gate with power release - my guess is the power up/down gate would probably still lower.

Easy to install and looks great
Found this very easy to install, shipped in excellent packaging and arrived damage free. I can see how this will not be very water tight. Also the drain tubes provided will not reach bed drain holes that are to small anyway to route through. All and all no real surprises. Looks like it will be a good cover. Will see how it is in a few months during winter.

Update
RealTruck BAK Revolver X4s Hard Rolling Truck Bed Tonneau Cover | 80131 | Fits 2019-2024 ChevUpdate June 2024the original one was defective but i got a replacement because it was under warranty. After just over a year.. the canvas is peeling away from slats. . This is really a bad , bad Hard roller. DO NOT buyUpdated review July 2022Dropped this thing 2 stars. After just over a year the cover/ coating is starting to crack on the next the last slat..pics included. The slat is also raised now instead of laying flat.It is still functioning as normal so only dropped 2 stars for the cosmetic defects. At this price I cannot recommend this product if it is going to have these kinds of issues this early into its life. I guess it can't handle the heat of southern summers.A buddy of mine bought a truck and i specifically told him to stay away from this brand. Buy a hard roller from a less expensive brand. The extra money for this thing does not translate to better quality or endurance.Original review April 2021Mine came with 1 rubber stopper missing and 1 of the black screw downs was stripped.I have a 2019 Silverado 6.5ft bed. I have a spray in liner. I had to install 3 times because each of the rubber gaskets they gave for the bulkhead made the cover stand to high. The 3rd Install I just chose not to use ether of the gaskets.. still pretty water tight at bulkhead. Some water leaks in at the corners of the tailgate. This cover costs a pretty penny but imo is the best option. Gives you the best combination of accessibility, security, easy of use, and low profile as any.It is a bit heavy but light enough to where I could roll it up , remove it, and install it by myself if I needed to.

Great look.
Very happy with this purchase. It fits good and the low profile design is a great look. I like the roll up design that keeps the view out the back window. It took me less than an hour to install working at a leisurely pace.

Nice Looking Cover - But It Leaks Alot!!!
Let me say I was a big BAK bed cover fan. I had one purchased in 2017 for my Silverado. It was made very well, the panels were thick and heavy duty and it rarely leaked. I traded in that truck for a new 2021 Silverado and first bought a GM bed cover called REV. It was made by the same BAK company, I believe it was similar to the G2 model. It was not thick, not heavy duty and leaked ALOT. I know these covers and you will have some leaking in the front and at the tailgate. But I never had leaks in the center of the cover on my 2017 cover. I had GM replace the cover and the 2nd one did the same thing. I received a full refund from GM and being a believer in BAK I bought the F1 top of the line cover. Guess what? It leaks as bad and maybe worst. The pictures added here are from the F1 cover, it leaks at the tail gate and front of the bed. I can live with that, but the leaks through the seals in the center of the bed are not acceptable, everything gets wet. What is the point of a bed cover in this situation. I will be returning this cover and trying to decide what to do next. What I have experinced is that BAK is NOT what it used to be!
