Clear Thin Acrylic Keyhole Picture Hole Hanging Slot Router Template Jig 9"x3"x0.25"
I love woodworking but many tasks need the assistance of a jig for me to get good repeatability and do a quality job. When this is used together with my great Cordless DeWalt Compact Router I can make frame hanging slots. This requires care in clamping as it is thin acrylic which offers little additional room to clamp it down on a workpiece. If this were an aluminum jig plate I would be all for it. As acrylic I feel a 4 Star rating is fair as this may not be sturdy enough for repeated uses. On the other side of the coin it is relatively inexpensive.I can give a Limited Recommendation of 4 STARS for this HERMIT TOOLS Brand 9"×3" Inches Picture-Hanging Keyhole Template. For a few uses and with care it will be ok for me but I did not like the acrylic template style of this product.I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

Well made
It was well made and not flimsy and seemed priced better than other identical items. Arrived quickly.

Not 1/4" thick -- Useless
This keyhole template is less than the advertised 1/4" thick and will cause your router to rock back and forth on the template bushing, ruining your cuts. Stay away!

Too small to be able to clamp down and use the router at the same time
Good idea...poor execution....if you try to use a clamp to hold it down so it doesn't move, you will block your ability to move your router...even a small router.

Quality has gone down
I ordered the keyhole template a few years back. It had all the finishing printing on it, as the photos show, great quality product. I recently ordered a second one. This one had the paper stickers on it, no finish printing on it, and some of the edges are all jagged. Not sure what is going on at Hermit tools, but quality has definitely dropped. I will be looking for another source for future router template orders.

Melted upon first use with my router
I went to use the template as was intended, made sure the bit was lined up correctly so that only the bearing rode along the template for the cut and I guess the bit produced too much heat and melted the template. First time I have EVER had that happen.
