Not a high end paddle. But works.
Nice action on this less expensive paddle. Looks great and feels like a higher end cw paddle. But definitely not the same build quality. But it works fine. Close to a Bencher type.

So far, so good!
Just getting back into CW after 30 years, this was an impulse buy after hearing that MFJ was closing down. I've only ever really used a Vibroplex Brass racer from the early 80's so I don't really have anything to really compare it to, but if I could wish for anything, it would be a better way to improve the spring torsion. For now? it works just fine

Nice keyer
Ok, This thing is good and heavy. Plus it has 3 rubber feet. You have to wire it up yourself but that's no porblem. You also have to buy the wire separately. It's nice and simply to operate and it easily adjusts to your preference to which side has the dits and dahs. I'm very glad I bought it.

USED and BROKEN
Old, broken paddles, soldered joints to old leads (used), mismatched paddles (repair job) rusted and corroded bottom (old/used), equipment shipped in a mailing envelope (insanity).

MFJ Paddles work well
I recently purchased an ICOM IC-7300 that has a built in iambic keyer. I did not have any paddles to use with it so I purchased the MFJ paddles. I find that they work very well and send perfect Morse when I push on the paddles correctly.

It works but the craftsmanship is lacking
It works and serves is purpose but the craftsmanship is lacking. The pins that hold the paddles aloft are not aligned and there's no real way to adjust it.It's a comparable key to the Bencher model. There's a reason it's cheaper. Don't get me wrong, it is very usable and heavy, but if your looking for a key that is as nice as a bencher than this one isn't for you. If you just want a keyb that works and won't slide around, then it's perfect

Heavy, solid, motionless on the table, with smooth and light paddle travel.
After years of using Johnson and Vibroplex mechanical "bugs", I began to move into the era of electronic keyers. I used an early Heathkit, then a more modern Heathkit, on my early transmitters that had no built-in electronic keyers. OK, so now I am happy to use an electronic keyer and my latest radio, an Icon-7300, has a built-in electronic keyer, BUT now I needed a new paddle for this new rig.Looking at the MFJ-564, I had seen one of these at my local radio club, and experienced the opportunity to use it... I was hooked. After purchasing this item through Amazon, I was satisfied that the necessary degrees of adjustability are there, and the heavy base keeps the paddle stationary before my operating position. The long tension spring provides constant tension throughout lever travels, but I adjust my travel pretty short, so that is easy. This item, although purchased through Amazon, was supplied by a third party. I received the item with some slight damage in shipping, and the third-party supplier immediately shipped a replacement with free shipping label to return the defective item. All in all, a successful purchase that stands active in my shack today.
