this was the 2nd time buying this thing, the 1st through another vendor and i wasn't going to disclose the name but now i doubt it's Ebay's fault when the manufacturer was so quick to blame them for selling their own product self described as faulty when we'd established this 2nd one was purchased from Ama. if that's too convoluted, Vivitar seems to be selling the 786 HD series action cam in full awareness they are defective.

Gave it 5 stars because we bought it to take underwater video. It takes GREAT video. BUT ... stills are horrible ... like skinny-scope.

Purchased this Vivitar DVR 794HD from Marshall's on 6/30/2019. Put battery in camera and charged it overnight. Removed from charging, and turned it on. Battery indicator shows 1/2 full. Why not completely full? Maybe battery is old?I did note that the camera's Display and the waterproof case has scratches on it consistent with use. Although the unit came in sealed case and the remote control still has the battery protector (pull it to connect the battery and use the remote) are still in place. The "QC PASS" sticker indicates 5/2018.I'll update this after it finishes recharging.

Haven't had any problems. Works better for what I'm using it for than I expected for the price. Couldn't figure out the helmet strap, so I screwed it to the brim of a baseball cap. Image is a bit grainy but not bad even in low light. The wrist remote buttons are a bit sensitive and can turn recording off/on unexpectedly. So far I'm satisfied.

Lol 😂. That all I'm going to say. I got this as a christmas gift last year and have only used it twice. Once to try it out and once to remind myself of the poor quality. It doesnt have any kind of internal stabalization so even walking with it mounted to my head is unwatchable because of shakiness. Not to mention it has terrible jello effect when bouncing or moving any thing faster than a walk. Im thank full I didnt spend my money on this camera because its not worth it in my opinion. However, when its not being all bouncy and jello-ee the picture actually looks nice. I got some nice video of me and my family at the park one afternoon. If you have it in its case the mic wont pick anything up but if you have it out and speak loud enough it works just fine. I did notice that the case tens to take in a little moisture when its cold outside. Having only used it twice, i havent tested it underwater in a pool but i submerged it in my sink for a minute and it was fine. I accidentally droped the case (by itself) and the clamp on the side broke. A little superglue fixed it up nicely and it works as it did before. Even tested it in the water again.All in all, not really worth it but has some nice moments.

The picture quality is not that good but the rest is. People are saying you have to use the 32 GB card but if you go to menu and format the card, it fixes the whole problem
