Simple Start Carbide Lathe Tool Set of 3 Mini Tools with 8" Solid Aluminum Handle, USA Made, Stainless Steel, Set of 3

I'm new to the world of pen turning, so had no real background or reference for lathe tools. These were a decent price and had good reviews so I took the risk. They have proven to be outstanding tools for small lathe work. Attached are a couple of pens that I made using these chisels (primarily the round and square ones). They have worked well with hard and soft woods, as well as soft metals like aluminum, brass and copper.It is nice not having to sharpen the chisels constantly like one does with HSS tools. I have no regrets with these tools, and can recommend them without reservation.JeffCarson City, NV

These are fantastic quality -- unbelievable deal for $99. Being stainless and aluminum, I expect they will last a lifetime! They are the perfect size for my son, who is learning to turn. The tools arrived today, so we chucked up a really hard sycamore block. The carbide cutters knocked the edges off and turned it down like butter. He wants to turn some acrylic pens, and we really needed better tools than HSS.

i don't think you'll find a mini carbide set of this quality for this price from anyone else, at least not that i've seen. if you ever wanted to check out this type of woodturning tool, this is just a great deal for a quality tool. i had a set from another manufacturer, and this was definitely an upgrade -- HIGHLY recommended!!!

Amazing quality at this price. I doubt the company can continue manufacturing them at this quality for long without raising their prices. They are simply beyond high quality. The machined aluminum handles are beautiful and fit you hands perfectly. These appear more like custom tools rather than something that was mass produced. These are the short tool set best for smaller turnings. Highly recommended.
