Fun for kids of all ages
I was out of town for 2 weeks and had to stay at a hotel... after a while, there was only so much TV I could take. The hotel had like 6 sports stations, and 3 Showtime... none of which I watch... and the stations I did watch (like syfy) they didn't have. So I was getting bored.I went to Michael's arts and crafts store to see if I could find something to do at the hotel while I was there out of sheer boredom. I found the clay and decided to buy some for grins and giggles.that night, I made what looked like a bear, a few flowers, and a little grass mound. I let the individual pieces dry for 24 hrs. the next night, I used some tacky all purpose glue to fill in the areas where the clay met (like where I connected the bear arm to the body) etc, then let that dry.A few hours after the glue dried, I got some acrylic paint, and painted the grass, the flowers, and made the bear into a panda. After the paint dried, I glued the bear to the grass mound, glued one of the flowers to the mound, and put one flower on the Panda's paw. I clued some cute google eyes on the panda, and let everything dry again. In the end I had a really cute panda figurine. A lot cuter than I thought I could get with cheap children's clay. I've since made 2 more panda figurines. The clay was actually pretty nice clay, easy to use, it didn't crack and crumble, while moist, you can put the clay together and it holds, it's soft and easy for little hands to mold, and it stays moist for a fairly long time as you work it. It obviously has its limitations. If you want to make intricate sculptures, this isn't a clay for that... but it's a fun clay for all ages, where you can make cute little art projects you can put on display.EDIT:: 7/1/12There are a few different types of Crayola air dry clay. This is sculpting clay, and when it says "white" they do NOT mean "white". It's more of a tan color. it also does not dry white. not sure why they call it white at all. There is another Crayola air dry clay you can get at places like Michael's arts and crafts, it's a foamier clay that comes in various colors, and when they say white, they mean white as snow. So if you're looking for that clay, don't order this one. This is a sculpting clay for more professional sculpts. it's a good clay, and dries hard as a rock... but it is not white.

Works perfect for what it was designed to be...
This is NOT permanent clay. This is for fun weekends spent making clay figurines and quick projects. That being said, I have clay wire working tools and some basic experience using real modeling clay and this held it's own in every respect.I've been able to create some pretty good looking peices using this air dry clay. It arrived a bit too moist and that made it feel tacky or gummy when working with it so I left the lid off overnight and it worked out perfectly.Like other people here have stated if the clay gets too dry adding a bit of water at a time will liven it back up quickly. This can also be used to fuse layers of the clay together or smooth out cracks that form in thicker areas. The clay does not like to be thick as it dries it will crack, i made a slip with a small batch of very watery clay and kept a close eye on the mask that was made. Rubbing the slip over the surface kept the surface of the clay moist as the inside dried slowly. I also used this to fill in any small fissures in the thicker areas. If I were doing a larger project I'd manage it in layers and score one side so I could use a loose clay as a glue once the smaller parts were dry.It does leave a white residue on clothes and hands, but this washed off and out fine, and I didn't notice any staining, however it is a craft / art product and should be treated like one.

Easy, contained, and provides a lot of creativity for kids
My seven year old has really gotten into clay modeling/sculpting. We were just picking up the Model Magic clay packs of individual colors from the craft store every now and then, but she and her brother were both forgetting to put their clay back in seal-able bags and I think she felt a little limited by the color selection. With the white air-dry clay, she has made so many cool things that she then paints them a day or two later. Most of the items she makes are palm size and they dry within a day. She pulls out only what she needs from the container and closes it up. It is a nice way to keep it contained. I also got her a book on clay modeling with big illustrations of cute animals. I see this giving her plenty to do this summer.

Easy to sculpt and play with
There is so much here for so little money.Really good buy for us, as me and my daughter like to make little figures with this and then paint them. They dry rock solid within a few days. I havent experienced any of the crumbling that some other people experienced in fact everything we have made has been very sturdy.Model magic is nice to use, but you cant get the detail with it like you can with this stuff. It is basically clay and works like clay does. It also paints up very well.A fair bit more messy than model magic is however, especially if you use water to soften some of it up, but thats not an issue to me.

Great project clay.
I bought this to make some imprint molds for Christmas presents of our family pets who are getting older. I read a few reviews saying this was delicate and not moldable and beige in color. First, it's beige when wet and the cleanest snow white when it's dry. Second, I found it to be especially easy to work with and was absolutely awesome for my project. If you have a delicate project in mind, this probably isn't the clay you want as it is quite fragile if your project is on the thinner side. I made 1/2 inch casts for the paws and let them dry for a few days just to be sure and they're perfectly stable and came out beautifully. You can even scrap your project, set it in a bowl with a tiny bit of water and it'll re-hydrate over a little time. It cleans off hands and surfaces (and paws) with a quick wipe with a damp cloth. Would completely buy this again. Great product and great value.

The delivery time was excellent, and the packaging was secure.
Easy to use white clay to help make solid, durable forms without the need for baking in an oven or firing in a kiln. Great for classrooms, art rooms and group activities. Quick and simple alternative to complex traditional ceramic firing process.
