Q: Other than price, what is the difference between this Sentelier primary set of acrylic paints and the more expensive boxed set?

personally, I love the abstract primary but if you are comparing them to the fine acrylic box set there is a difference. the abstracts are very thin no need to thin them further where as the fine acrylics are much heavier. I would say, mostly the difference is the viscosity they are both awesome.

Q: Does this dry hard or like puffy fabric paint? When used as a liner will it dent if pushed?

It ultimately sets hard like artists acrylics, the lines take a while to dry on canvas like oil paints. It doesn't dent like latex paint.

Q: How long does it take to dry completely?

Although acrylics dry quickly on the surface, one should wait at least a week for it to dry through all the way before varnishing. An acrylic painting may be dry to touch hours after painting, it is often still wet underneath.

Q: Can these paints be used on fabric and if so, are they permanent when dry?

Yes they can be used on fabric. It would be better to mix a fabric medium with the paint to make it more fabric positive.
