I don't know but I never used it for weight loss. I doubt it will help in weight loss.

I no longer have this container but neither of these are listed on the ingredients label.

Q: Is this in the form of a tablet (small) or a capsule? I am used to taking iodine capsules in the form of very small yellow tablets.

The kelp is not a capsule. It is a small "flat" tablet. I have a hard time taking pills, but found no problem with these. The only thing is that they do dissolve quickly, so I take it separately from the other vitamins I also take. I hope this helps. I do highly recommend Norwegian Kelp.
