Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor Vol. 1: New Beginnings

Lovely first outing for the Thirteenth Doctor in the world of comics. This is a fairly lighthearted romp with beautiful artwork by Rachel Stott. It’s friendly to new viewers of Doctor Who and to new readers at Titan Comics, so don’t feel like you have to read the previous Doctors before jumping in (though I’d encourage it, their stuff is pretty cool as well). The great thing about the medium is that there is no television budget, so there are moments where the artists are allowed to truly translate Houser’s vision to the page. This also incorporates elements of lore from the modern series fairly well. My one complaint is that I wish that this story was an issue longer to let the plot breath a bit more, but as is it’s solid. Definitely worth a read!
