Nice project!
This is the first time we applied window privacy film to the window. Would like to share some tips we learned from our mistakes.1. Be sure to measure the size of the window first to decide how you want to cut this film. My husband just put the film in front of the window to get the approximate sizes. We left around 2” space but figured out later that there is really no need to leave extra 1” space (as per the instruction) if you could cut the film well. Extra 0.5” is good enough if you want to use one film on several windows.2. Be careful if you want to use tape on the film. We tried to use tape to mark the line to cut. But the tape left some residue on the film.3. If you don’t have a long metal ruler but would like to mark the line with a marker or a pen, better to mark on the back of the film. I used an eyebrow pencil to mark so that I could cut a straight line with a scissor. It was labor intensive to remove the line because the front surface is “not flat”. Glad we could trim the part later.4. Make sure your knife is sharp enough so the trimming doesn’t become zig-zag. Be patient and careful when trimming the film so that you don’t damage the wood/frame of your window. (It might be better if you do use a metal ruler next to the knife when trimming.)I was kind of nervous before starting the project because my husband had some bad experiences on the car window tint. This is definitely easier but it indeed took us some time. If you have no experience like me, I would suggest watching some videos on Youtube before you start to work. This film has some thickness to it. Though it looks harmless to the window, we are not sure if the film really leaves no residues after we remove it…. My husband said, “It looks like from the 60’s.”; after dark, he said, “it looks like Christmas time!!” We feel that the film is more beautiful than expected after application.

Easy to use, easy to fit, easy to remove, easy to reapply
What an amazing product! I bought and fitted it to help stop my dog from barking at everyone walking into the street. It's easier than you think to fit, you just wet the window and film. If it's not in the right place you can slide it across the surface of the glass until it's where you want , then you just squeegee the water/bubbles out until it's how you want it.I did my windows on my own and all 3 were done within 10 minutes, to great effect. If you can't get it perfect then simply remove and reapply. The rainbows are a bonus extra! You even get them on an evening due to street lighting.I'm very happy with the product. I'm considering buying more to do my patio doors.

Brilliant for privacy and pretty too!
I purchased this film because our large lounge windows needed privacy, but I didn't like how much light blinds or voile panels blocked out. It was pretty easy for my husband and I to apply. We used a vinyl tool kit we got from B&Q for £3, but a stanley knife and credit card wrapped in kitchen roll would've done the same job. This film doesn't block out the light at all and we loved it so much downstairs that we decided to add a panel in our bedroom too. I love the beautiful rainbows it scatters around the room on sunny days. You definitely can't see through the film unless you have your face touching it, but even then everything is distorted. We've had ours up for about a month now with no peeling, bubbles etc. We've actually ordered more and will be putting a strip of it on all our windows, we love it that much!

Rainbows everywhere, beauty and privacy in one!
We needed to replace a bathroom window decoration (spray-on acid effect that was peeling off after 20 years), and as the window faces south, thought we'd give the 'rainbow film' a go. Well, the effect is stunning! And there's plenty left over for more decorating projects. It was so easy to fit, and trim to size. Not only does it project glorious rainbows when the sun shines through it, at night when the light is switched on, the window is filled with shards of colour. During the day, we see the shapes of the trees outside, shot with little iridescent patches, blurred enough that detail is lost, so privacy is retained.

Don't be stupid like me.
Not the products fault but when I was cleaning the window, I sliced my finger open on a bit of glass that I didnt realise was sticking out. With a quick run to the hospital in the middle of a pandemic and waiting 2hrs outside in nothing but a pajama top and a pair of shorts to be seen by a doctor only to have it stop bleeding in that time and feeling embarrassed for wasting everyone's time for nothing. I went home to put up the film and it installed like a dream. So I would say easy to install but the length of time it took for me to install it was unexpected. And If you plan to buy it I would suggest factor in the time of you being stupid. If you are not stupid, unlike me, it's easy to install and looks gorgeous.
