This solved my GPU problem (Fan goes to max then display goes black issue). Disassembled my old GTX 980to replace the thermal pads but did not solved the problem. I bought this as a last resort since I know copper is a good heat conductor. the size of the shims are perfect for the bigger chips. I have to cut some in half for the smaller chips. put some thermal paste on top of the chips, put some slight pressure on the copper plate for good contact and then applied thermal pads on top of the shim to squeeze it more and hold it in place when putting back the cover. Assembled my GPU back on, Turned on the computer... solved my problem. No fan cranking up on the Graphics card and blank display. Somebody complained about the case. The case is really sturdy and each compartment are numbered for different size shim. Highly recommended and the price is right.

Few complaints for the price point. Container is cheap for sure but you're not really buying it for the box, and it's sturdy enough and stays closed fine. I measured a number of mine with precision calipers (needed a 0.5 mm shim for a specific use), there was slight variation but most were within 0.05 mm of eachother. The largest shims( received 3) were between 1.97 and 1.96 mm, the next down were all within 0.02 mmof 1.75 mm(received 5). I bought this set for the 0.5mm shims, and all were slightly under varying between 0.45mm and 0.48mm. Close enough for my use case.The smallest size is 0.1 mm, about a dozen of them.All in all a good variety for the price. Only real complaint is a a couple shims has some discoloration. Stubborn stuff too, high strength alcohol and scrubbing didn't even remove it. Won't bother refunding over it, most were perfectly fine.

There was a good variation of sizes, the problem is some of the shim sized had a count of 3 and other had a count of 6-12. Seemed an odd variant i would have expected at least a min of 5-6 of each size. the other issue was that the container that these are sent in is EXTREMELY brittle plastic, and in my case half the container lids were broke off and i had to separate 1/2 of the shims into separate sizes with a digital caliper. On the plus side thermal tape sticks well to these and they transfer heat pretty good ( but i also pre cleaned all the shims with 4k grit sand paper b4 use) would recommend for the money was a good buy in the end!

Since we have to wait around for the switch pro, why not a better cooling solution? Placing a couple of the copper mini plates, with some thermal tape, on the switch will help with a Nintendo switch that breaths loudly.

Perfect for any application 👌 👍 😉 different sizes. I used it on my TV motherboard.Keep them parts cool 😎The only thing, the case they are in, is pretty light. It came broken but no big deal. I'll find something to place them in.
