After researching various metal stamping plates, Safe Seed is one of the best options due to the value and quality. Many comparable plates are twice the cost. The stainless steel Safe Seed is made of is great for durability as it has a maximum temperature of ~2,613ºF. For context, a house fire may range from 1,100 - 2,000ºF. There is plenty of room on the back of the cards for adding additional info/labeling. Also, The seller has been responsive and helpful!

I got the stainless steel version this Safe Seed when I upgraded to a Ledger wallet. This was my first time using stamped metal to save my seed phrases. Two things should be pointed out at the start. You will need to buy a metal letter stamping set and stamping steel is virtually impossible without a workbench, a steel bench block and a proper jig to hold the plate still. Trust me on this.The maximum letter size for this particular Safe Seed plate is 5/32 of an inch. Letter stamping sets are readily available here on Amazon. I would recommend you don’t go with the cheapest one. Get a set made of steel alloy with a hardness of 58 or better so they don’t get dull with use and the letters become illegible. The decent ones are currently priced around $15-$20.Unless you have some unusual reason, I would go with the copper version of the Safe Seed. I don’t have a workshop and needed to be able to do the stamping at my desk. I didn’t realize just how much force it would take to get the letter to imprint into the steel. The copper Safe Seed plate is identical to this one and MUCH easier to stamp due to the softer nature of copper. Copper has a melting point of 1,984 F, and the average house fire burns at around 1,100 F. So, a copper plate is more than adequate for most people, and a lot easier to work with too.

Unless you have some unknown magical skill to produce words onto this tiny sheet of metal. This will be useless to you. Good luck!

The metal plate itself is strong and difficult to bend. The printed design on the front doesn't come off easily and seems to provide enough space for a 12-letter word in each cell, provided that you have a fine engraver or small stamp kit. The back of the plate was a bit scratched up but the front was pretty much flawless. It's definitely thicker than the blank stainless steel business cards I've used for writing down my seed phrases in the past.Keep in mind though size wise it's around the size of a standard business card, so when writing out longer words in the various cells, I had to really take my time with my engraver pen. I practiced a few times on some scrap metal I had before writing it one last time on the front of this plate.I also used the back to write down another seed phrase for a backup ETH wallet.Overall it's worth a buy, just make sure you have safe storage for it and think about maybe purchasing two or three to scatter your seed phrase if you're concerned about security. One minor criticism is the price point, but for the peace of mind which comes from secured cold storage of your crypto, it's worth it.

This is way to much effort to engrave your seed words for one. Secondly, it is almost impossible to accurately engrave this item with our specific equipment to hold this item in place. It was a complete waste of money unless of course you have special engraving equipment in your house, which most people don't. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!! DON"T DO IT.
