Works well for its purpose, recommended.
Let me start by saying that you should keep your expectations at bay: it's a $25 plastic fingerprint lock. It's perfect for keeping things out of reach of children, for example. If you're trying to keep valuables safe from burglars, you need a proper safe and not this product. It would be quite easy for a mildly-skilled adult to open this lock with a simple bent metal tool, or for anyone over 12 y/o with a screwdriver to pry it open, so keep that in mind.Having said that, it works very well after setting up the fingerprints (which is not as hard as some reviewers say it is - procedure below). It also comes with a USB-C key that can be used to unlock it if you have problems (it'll allow any finger to open it once inserted), which looks just like a USB adapter, so it's inconspicuous. Just make sure to keep the key in a safe place (and not inside where this lock is installed, obviously). How to add fingerprints:1) As soon as you plug the sensor into the lock and install batteries for the first time, the lock will open with any fingerprint. Start by holding a finger on the sensor. The lock will open, then close, and then the LED will stay blue. That means it's ready to program.2) Repeatedly scan the new fingerprint you want to add (touch and remove) until the LED stays green for longer and then turns blue again. 5 successful scans are needed for each finger you want to add. Note: Make sure to change the position of the finger on the sensor ever so slightly, to make sure it's less sensitive to small changes in finger position. If you get a red LED it means that scan failed or the finger is already registered.3) Once the LED turns blue (after 5 successful scans), start scanning a different fingerprint right away.4) Repeat until you scanned all fingerprints you want to register, then just wait for a few seconds and it'll get out of programming mode by itself.Note: If you take too long to scan a new finger and it gets out of programming mode, use an already scanned finger to re-enter programming mode (step 1). This is also how you add more fingerprints later on.If the lock isn't opening with any finger when you insert batteries on it for the first time, I'm not sure but you might be able to use the supplied key to enable any finger, and then reset the lock (remove all fingerprints). Check the manual, there's a reset procedure there with LED colors to watch for.Installation requires low to average skills, mainly because getting the lock itself bolted at the correct height might be challenging for someone who's never done any DIY. Other than that, drilling the hole for the fingerprint reader is easy. Just be careful when drilling through IKEA furniture, because those are basically glued sawdust, so it might be best to drill a pilot hole through and then drill from both sides to prevent it from looking like a bullet exit hole from the other side, which can make it tricky to bolt the reader in place. It works very fast, even though it might require a second attempt every 2 or 3 times. I'm sure if I program the same finger at a different position it'll be much better. But again: it's a $25 fingerprint lock.Only issue I had is that it was missing a couple of screws to bolt the reader to the furniture, but that's not a big deal.

Works great !
The media could not be loaded. great little gadget . i bought a file cabinet to go under my new workstation table . it was the only white one i could find with the strict dimensions to fit under , however it didn’t have a lock . i at least wanted one drawer to lock for out of sight paper work from the cleaning person that comes to my house and my kids. this really did the trick , wish it came in a white to match my cabinet however it still looks kinda cool like a mini camera :)the product itself works great. for all the reviews that peope said it wouldn’t register the finger print and anyone can open it , it’s because you are not registering the fingerprint correctly . that part was extremely tricky for me becasue i’m not a technical person however my 11 year old son who’s a computer genius helped me through that process . Don’t drill the hole too big otherwise the fingerprint pad will be too loose on the cabinet and won’t look right . took about an hour from start to finish and lining up the 2 pieces and making sure it matched on properly also took a bit of time and precision . mai definitely took a bit of time to get it to perfection . otherwise , great product and works well for what i need it for !

Very clean install and great design.
Works so well. Instructions are fairly easy to understand.

Bluetooth
The system works good, except my only disappointment in the system Bluetooth capability is very weak. It does NOT work from any location in my house until I place my phone next to fingerprint pad and operate the system then it will connect to Bluetooth. It’s distant is not good. Wish it work from anywhere in my house or could be notified when I’m at work using Wi-Fi. That would be helpful knowing someone was tampering with the system.

Novel idea but not reliable.
Worked good the day I installed, now not so much, now not at all. Master key will work for my wife but will not work at all for me. Now I have a hole in cabinet door that will have to be covered by some other lock I find.Problem could be as a mechanic my hands and fingers are rough n textured idk

After 3 years of heavy daily use still perfect.
I'm sorry, but anyone that is saying they have issues with the installation and/or recording fingerprints is either fibbing or should not be allowed to do any diy projects themselves. You are basically saying you cant drill a hole (for the installation), and can't hold a finger on the scanner for 10 seconds (to register).I purchased this lock just about 3 years ago, the photo is after the 3 years of heavy use. I have it installed on my desks center top drawer that I am in and out of all day long. I have replaced the batteries twice now (the second time just recently) And I can count on 1 hand the number of times it didn't correctly read my print on the first try, and every one was because I had something (glue, food, dirt) on my finger. There is honestly no difference between now and the day I installed it.This is probably the third time Ive left any review on a product. After 3 years, heavy use, and for this price, I figured it was well earned. And thank you.

Very cool, avg build quality, works
Fun little product that works even though the size is larger than is like and plastic build quality is average. I have no regrets. But if they made one with a lower profile (shorter so I could put it in a smaller drawer) and with metal casing and strike plate, that would be a tempting product. It was confusing to program the reader as the instructions don't make sense. But I figured it out with some trial and error.
