Works from box, simple setup
I've just bought this monitor (27 April 2024) as I wanted to upgrade my 2-screen setup. In this review I am going through each step of a very straightforward setup so as to answer the questions that I had when researching 32" monitors at a reasonable price. And maybe answer a few of yours as well.My old setup was 2 monitors: primary (number one) was 24" and secondary (number two) 21".My old primary 24" screen has now become my number two screen and this 31.5" is my new number one screen. I knew the size of course, that is the diagonal measurement in the listing, but what pleasantly surprised me was its vertical height of 15.5"; the horizontal width is 27.5". This gives the diagonal measure of 31.5". btw my old number 2 monitor is now stored 'just in case'.Assembling the monitor mount is very straightforward and obvious. The monitor can be tilted but its height is fixed on the mount. This is fine for me. There are fitting screwholes on the back for wall mounting.I was a bit concerned about installing and setting up the new monitor as I wished to have it. I know from experience there can be issues with anything new. So this is what I did. I turned off my PC and moved the monitors into their new positions. I left my old primary monitor (new no 2) plugged in to my PC and the power and just plugged the hdmi and power into the new monitor. Then I booted up. I expected to have an issue with sorting out the monitors but Windows 10 and/or the AOC monitor immediately identified it as my new primary and relegated my old monitor to number 2. So I got the usual Windows login screen on my new monitor and put in my pin.I was immediately impressed by all the space I now had and, after letting all the odds and ends load up in the little tray bottom right, I adjusted the icons to take advantage of the greater size and resolution. This is because without my having to intervene in display settings (right-click on the screen), it had automatically set the resolution to the top setting. I had been a bit concerned that my rather aged graphics card might not have handled the new screen and resolution but there were no problems.I tried the screen out with a YouTube video and something from the BBC iPlayer and, as most reviews have mentioned, the built-in speakers are rather tinny and have very poor bass. No problem though as I wanted to keep using my external speakers anyway. So again right-click, select sound and then select the external speakers, thereby turning off the new monitor's speakers. That put everything back to how I want it.This is just day one and I'll see how it goes but so far I haven't had to use any of the on-screen display adjustments as I find the default colour, brightness, contrast etc very close to my existing setting. To give you an idea, I use my PC for making 3D models, running a railway simulator, teaching online using Powerpoint plus all the usual routine stuff. I'm not into gaming and I am sure that if you are then you'll be going for a high end and much more expensive monitor. For me, though, this monitor is excellent and I definitely recommend it.

Working space legend
Not the highest resolution, not the highest frame rate, not the best colour reproduction, but as a space for workflow a 32” is unsurpassed.I’ve had dual monitors and larger monitors and with almost unlimited budget I chose this and for excel, surfing and 3D modelling I can’t think of a better monitor for the money.I don’t full screen because I don’t need to.You may want more of a particular spec but for the 90% of computer users this is the perfect monitor. The extra bit of cash makes it lighter and suitable for a cheaper monitor arm.

Fantastic for the price
This monitor is far far better than the price suggest.A big 32 inch bright 2k monitor. With a really good picture quality. I was surprised just how good this monitor was.Picture quality - good brightness, perhaps not high enough brightness for good hdr, the picture iq was fantastic. Good contrast. Good colours, but a little blue biased, after some fiddling in the picture menus I found a better preset than the default, but I suspect this could be improved on with calibration. Not that off axis the monitor performs well so there is no vignette in the corners. For gaming this is a good monitor, it goes up to 75hz, which I think is plenty, and with the big colourful screen at 2k I think this is a fantastic monitor for gaming. I also watched some movies on it. Unfortunately using an hdmi prime stick it defaults to 1080p as prime sticks don't do 2k, and this will probably be true for many media apps because 2k is not a TV standard resolution, perhaps there is a software workaround where you spoof a 4k monitor? Anyhow, even at just HD the monitor does a great job, with a nice picture. If you go to you tube you can find 1440p content, and it's excellent on this screen. If you play 4k content then it's equally excellent as the pc downsamples to 2k.Sound - bad, yes it has built in speakers but they are quiet and poor quality, consider them as a back up to a seperate system.Design - basic but solid. Textured black plastic, the design will not win awards. The attached stand is tilt only, but I found the height just right anyway. It's a sturdy stand and doesn't wobble. There are also vesa mounts and I've now mounted it on an arm. One area where the low cost nature of this monitor becomes apparent is the lack of input ports. It's one hdmi and one display port, but really that should be enough for most. I had a desktop connected to the display port and hdmi connected to a laptop or prime stick. Another hdmi and a dvi port would have been useful.Recommendation - overall for the price this is an excellent monitor. You would have to pay substantially more to see even modest improvements. AOC have done a great job offering such a wonderful monitor for such an affordable price. I heartily recommend this monitor.

Lasted 5 months
Great screen with good colour balance but only lasted 5 months with light usage - 1 hour per day max for general email/spreadsheet work (no gaming) - hence the three star rating. I would have given 5 stars if I had written this review before the screen suddenly failed.Amazon returns service was complicated at first to find out how to go about returning the product, but once I got through to an actual person, the process to return and refund my money was quick and faultless.
