Product description Abba ~ Abba Gold - Greatest Hits .com For those who love Abba (and if you're reading this, chances are you do, even if you don't know it yet), ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits represents a happy, joyous compilation of 19 of the Swedish supergroup's numerous videos (it omits 13 that were on Abba: The Definitive Collection but adds "Lay All Your Love on Me" and "I Have a Dream"). Granted, they all seem to have been filmed on the same soundstage (even the firelit "Fernando"), but they retain their appeal and infectious charm. Fans can thrill to these vintage clips, which provide an opportunity to rediscover who was the most natural in front of the camera (Agnetha), who was the best dancer (Anna-Frid, a.k.a. Frida), who was the most demure (Benny), and who was the worst lip-syncher (Bjorn--always Bjorn). Lassé Hallstrom, later an Oscar®-nominated filmmaker, directed most of the early videos, and it shows in their natural, no-fuss style; it wasn't until Abba tried to make the jump to '80s-style electronica that they faltered in both style and content. In addition to old standbys like "Waterloo" and "Take a Chance on Me," there's a 25-minute historical documentary and a 1992 version of the "Dancing Queen" video. To this we say: Thank you for the music--and the videos! --Mark Englehart

A B B A is HERE! RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES! FABULOUS VIDEO AND AT A GREAT PRICE!!!!
WOW G R E A T to SEE A B B A AGAIN! I OWN the ABBA GOLD C D AND WAS DISAPPOINTED NOT TO SEE "E A G L E" IN THIS COLLECTION ! Maybe I should have paid a bit closer attention! That was "THE SONG" S.A.S. had playing in the sound system on the plane when I went across the Atlantic to SCANDINAVIA with my Grandmother in 1978. (Don't count the years (37) past ). A VERY FOND MEMORY AND I DARE SAY, VERY SMART AND APPROPRIATE OF S.A.S. TO USE THAT SONG IN THE ABBA MIX! ABBA brings back many memories of that time to me and evidently a whole bunch of others! Don't get "OVER-TECHNICAL" with quality of the sound and video! Most of us heard them over the local FM Radio station! The VIDEOS were on MTV at the time (Need I mention "QUALITY ISSUES" of TV in the 70's and 80's)! I would advise to LOOK AT WHAT IS ON WHATEVER A B B A DVD (or any other video for that fact) THAT YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING! Then decide on which one you want! Base your decision on THE MUSIC! Will A B B A ever get together AGAIN! Everybody ELSE IS!!!!

ABBA GOLD, A FUN MUSIC EXPERIENCE FROM THE FAB 4
I AM A MUSIC LOVER TO THE N'TH DEGREE AND WHO COULDN'T LOVE ABBA. GREAT SOUND IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ME. I LISTEN TO ALL MY MUSIC, CD'S AND DVD'S ON A GREAT SOUNDING SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM SO QUALITY OF A RECORDING IS A MUST FOR ME IF IT IS TO BE PLACED INTO MY SOUND COLLECTION, OTHERWISE IT IS TOSSED. ABBA GOLD DVD SET IS A FUN VIDEO OF THE GROUP SINGING THEIR SONGS AND THE QUALITY IS THERE. THIS IS NOT A PERFORMANCE ON STAGE, RATHER IT IS THE GROUP PERFORMING IN A STAGED SETTING. UNFORTUNATELY I THINK YOU HAVE TO BUY THE IN PERFORMANCE DVD TO GET THEM SINGING ON STAGE BUT IT IS MORE MODERN DAY WHEN THEY ARE MUCH OLDER. IF YOU ARE A BIG FAN OF ABBA AND QUALITY IS IMPORTANT, THEN ABBA GOLD CD AND DVD ARE A MUST TO HAVE.

Great Quality...
ABBA is ABBA, no matter when are you watching it. It is in very good quality for the years, and it has all the best of the "team". What should I say - If you like the quartet and their songs, this would be a great item to add to your collection. Go for...I recommend it very well. Thanks.

AWESOME Songs & Performances
This was and is one of my favorite groups of all time. The music as well as the performers are still outstanding. But to see the performances is the greatest. Wish we could see DVDs of more of the classic performances by other groups.

Buyer BEWARE! It's Free on VEVO
Well, Let the buyer beware. I am a Souper Fan of ABBA. So I will, keep,it anyway, but do not spend 30.00 bucks for something you can get free on VEVO. This DVD are the same videos you see on VEVO and they have even more that what comes with this DVD.

ABBA's Big Hits
I am giving this DVD a 5 star rating. However I bought both this and ABBA: Number Ones and found them to be very similar, many of the same scenes. So if you have one you may not want the other. In my case I dont mind having them both. The music is great, the girls are beautiful and have such a great sound. I listen to ABBA more now than I did in the 1970's.

Redundant and strictly for the hard-core Abba fans
With the availability of "The Definitive Collection" DVD, there really is no reason to own "ABBA Gold," unless you need to complete your collection of ABBA videos. "ABBA Gold" offers up previously unavailable (on DVD) videos for "I Have a Dream," "Lay All Your Love on Me" and the 1992 version of "Dancing Queen." "Lay All Your Love on Me" is really just highlights from other videos. In addition to the videos is a short featurette, which essentially covers the same material that was covered in the documentary "The Winner Takes it All," and the only band member interviewed is Bjorn.I may be wrong on this point, but the video quality seems a tad worse than "The Definitive Collection." "The Winner Takes it All," for instance, is washed out in some segments and the contrast is too bright in others. Other clips seem sharper than they appear in TDC, so I've no idea if any remastering of the original prints was involved. The sound quality seems to be identical to "The Definitive Collection."If money were the issue, I'd definitely spend it on TDC. "I Have a Dream" is a good song, but to me, not reason enough to purchase "Gold" over TDC.

If your in a romantic mood ABBA is great. I always like these Best of collections
If your in a romantic mood ABBA is great. I always like these Best of collections. The first copy I bought was a cassette tape in Quebec Canada, I listened to it all the way up to James Bay Canada and back, it really brought back memories. I've been checking out tribute bands, I hope one comes around.
