Selle Royal Alpine Bicycle Saddle, Black

I bought a Newish (2014) Trek 8.3 Gary Fisher hybrid bike from a local shop, while shopping around I read many reviews and a very large majority of them advised to immediately replace the trek seat as it was terribly uncomfortable. I of course didn't listen and was honestly really impressed by the bike overall seeing as the last bike I owned was a POS bmx style bike as a kid. I made a foolish mistake ignoring those warnings and have paid dearly for it.Thankfully I can now ride with surprising comfort for hours without becoming saddle sore. The seat is great especially at this price point. It's not perfect imo but thats based upon me and my bike and riding experience which isn't much. My issues are1. The rails it sits upon don't allow it to sit as far back on my seats post as the oem seat did. I did buy a schwinn seat last year that did sit back as far but was immediately over stressed in that position and was bent and tossed out after 3 months.2. This seat while I'll say of high quality and very comfortable is also not slick enough to maneuver myself easily from a seated or slightly hovering riding position. Example being if I'm cutting through a local park where the spot I exit the park is a very steep hill. When navigating I shift my weight to the rear of the saddle and bike for obvious reasons and up off the seat as said hill ends quickly meeting a very high curb leading onto a large parking lot. I find myself being easily caught up on the seat. It feels like it's the material against my civilian clothing (no bike shorts) but it also likely is due to the ample padding I'm not used to. I also cannot complain about the comfort, this is the reason I bought the seat.So the negatives are very much individual nags, and not so bad when that's all I can say other than I think the seat is awesomely comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, seams well constructed and made of high quality materials.Without a doubt I'd recommend to anyone looking for an easily affordable upgrade in comfort over whatever torture device you may be subjecting your jewels to as it 'taint any fun when an enjoyable ride puts you on the sidelines from your bedroom activities for a bit.Looks great, feels great, seems to be made to last and at this price how can one really complain with those attributes.

I bought this saddle to bring on a Trek Travel bike tour through Croatia.. My local bike store was sold out of them but it was highly recommended. I wanted to be comfortable on my bike and off of it after cycling distances and hills five days in a row. It made an amazing difference. It is a saddle with great support AND yet soft cushioning (and still does not impede efficiency in pedaling).

I actually broke my old bike seat that I had for 8 years. I did not know they actually broke? I received some fat jokes from my wife and then purchased the new seat. It has a good level of gel to keep your bottom comfortable. The only issue I have with it is that it has a tendency to grip your rear. If you are trying to adjust, my old seat let me without an issue where this one grips/ sticks to you.

I only typically commute about 40 minutes, I bought this thing to eliminate some numbness in the sensitive areas, and it solved that problem. But it hurt my tailbone, so I found a better saddle. I bought the Selle SMP TRK Gel, which is a much more expensive saddle, but it seems to be the best saddle I’ve ever ridden on. I’m 6’2” and weigh about 275.

Had one of these saddles for about 15 years. Loved it then. Glad I was able to find basically the same one after such a long time. I tried two other saddles on my bike and they just weren't nearly as comfortable. This one has no numbness in the crotch and is very comfortable for those longer rides. By no means is this seat for comfort bikes. It is more for bikers who have a bike where they are at about a 45 degree angle in their ride position. I have a Giant Rincon Mtn Bike that is about 17 years old. This seat is great for my daily rides.

I have been using Selle Royal saddles for about 7-8 years now. This has not disappointed me at all. Remember everyone's butt is different. This one works great for me. Your butt may differ. It has the standard two rails for mounting. Great saddle overall.

It's legit and comfy. I was skeptical. I used without padded shorts and so far so good. Not sore after 5 mile and 10 mile rides.

I was impressed by how soft the seat felt until I actually sat on it. At 160 lbs I sank through the gel and could feel the hard base underneath. I’ve used other saddles with firmer padding that provide better support with far less obvious pressure points than this one. Also, the logo on the side is a soft, sticky plastic that protrudes and creates friction on the inner thigh when wearing shorts or leggings. I’m surprised so many people loved this seat because I found it unbearable.
