Brilliant Book for Skincare Lovers
After finding Caroline Hirons' on YouTube and Instagram, I knew I wanted to have her book on my bookshelf. What she doesn't know about skincare isn't worth knowing! It's a book absolutely filled with information, which is clear, concise and doesn't talk down to you. The information is broken down into ages/skin conditions/skin concern etc and easily a book you can dip in and out of for when you need advice. There are also recommendations for certain skincare products. This is a must have book for anyone really interested in their skincare and getting the most out of the products they use.

An Absolute Must For Your Bedside Table
I’m just taking my first look through this book and, on first impressions, I’m really pleased with my purchase. It’s well set out, easy to read, in fact I feel like I’m sat with Caroline whilst she talks me throughthings, and is refreshingly honest in its views. I’m in my 50’s and have always wore makeup and had a skincare routine. As I’ve got older I’ve become more invested in my skincare, but have always been conscious of fads and products that make outlandish claims. But there are that many different products out there for us to use, and in what order, it can all become quite confusing. From what I’ve read so far, this book helps to sort out all those beauty facts and myths. I’ve already learned a few new things I wasn’t aware of, and I can see myself referring to this book on a regular basis. I especially like the way it has been worded and the tone and language used. I’d say this is the best beauty book I’ve ever read and would highly recommend to anyone interested in beauty. I wish this book had been available as I was setting out in life. I would have loved a book like this in my 20’s. That said, skincare has come on a lot since the 80’s, with a lot more products having been developed, such as serums, and all the new acids that are more beneficial than the word acid would have you believe. If you have a teenage daughter or niece, I would recommend this book as a skincare bible to give them all the right information as early as possible and set them on their path to great skincare through each decade of their life………

A Great Book, Especially for Those New to Skincare
I don't understand any of the negative reviews here. I haven't read the author's blog, but of course, the material in the book would be similar unless the author has changed her opinion about something. I think this is a great book. I've been searching Amazon for a comprehensive book on skincare and skincare products, and this is, by far, the best. The author covers skin types, skin problems, skincare routines, where we should be spending the bulk of our skincare budget, skincare myths, and so much more. This is definitely not a book for estheticians or chemists working in the skincare industry. Hopefully, those persons already know everything contained in this book. This is a book for the non-professional, the everyday woman or man. And, it's written in a down-to-earth, easy-to-read style that any educated person can understand. The author is, at no time, crude. She doesn't coddle the big brands; she tells it like it is, but she is never crude about it. For me, at least, she comes off as an honest, truthful person, who would be fun to get to know. This isn't a book about makeup, nor does the author doesn't write much at all about the various skincare devices that are flooding the market today. She writes about skincare: cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, etc., and who needs which ones and why. A book on skincare and the products necessary for good skincare is exactly what I wanted. When I'm not performing on stage, which requires heavy makeup, I tend to favor a more natural look and give my skin a rest, but even if I'm only wearing tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip gloss, my skin is still being nourished by the toners, serums, and other products I've used before I put on my "minimalist's palette" of makeup. You might not agree with everything in this book. I didn't. The author eschews cleansing brushes in favor of washcloths, and I love cleansing brushes, especially silicone cleansing brushes. But that's okay. I don't think any reader is going to agree with everything the author says. The important point, in my case, at least, is that we both agree that the skin has be thoroughly cleansed morning and night, every day.I think anyone who is new to comprehensive skincare and is trying to figure out what cleansers, toners, essences, serums, moisturizers, sleeping masks, etc., to buy and when to use them will benefit enormously from reading this book. I am not new to comprehensive skincare, and I found a lot in the book to help me, a lot I didn't know. I know I'll refer to the book again and again. If you're new to skincare and find the vast array of products overwhelming, and they certainly can be, or if you just want to know more, try this book. I think you'll be delighted.

It's Like Skincare for Dummies
Seriously, Caroline Hirons makes it easy. You may think you know everything there is to know about taking care of your face, but you don't. She goes through every questions you may have had about your skin - how to clean it, take off your makeup, what you should use morning and what you should use at night. Such fantastic dry British wit adds lots of laughs and overall, this book will make anyone who is interested in the beauty industry a happier and much smarter person.
