Q: What kind of a developer for a medium ash brown?

This Schwarzkopf Igora color10 uses 6% 20 volume developer, 1:1 (that means equal parts color and developer). They do recommend that you use the products in their hair color line, which I do. (Some women want to pay less for stuff, so they buy dupes at places like Sally's). I do hope, though, that you've had some experience -- or extra time -- to read about this product. It's a wonderful product, but here's a couple of things I found out after reading (and using) that I'm happy to share with you. First, which ever color you choose, it comes out darker than you think it will. So, either test it first, or, choose one color lighter. Next, some of colors cover gray better (I'm not saying you have any). For instance, a color ending in the number -0 or -00 covers gray better than the other colors with other numbers (i.e. -4, -5, -6, etc.). This is true for all Schwarzkopf hair color. And, lastly, I really love how I use Color10 on my hair. I do JUST my roots with Color10 because it's easy and fast, and I can do a quick touch up about every 4 weeks or so.. I use Color10 in 9.0. Then, at the same time as I color my roots, I use Schwarzkopf Vibrance demi color on the rest of my hair. I use a 9.5 for that because it's lighter (and blonder) than what I put on my roots. Demi is easier on your hair, and it last up to 28 shampoos. It's that multi-tone color I achieve that makes my hair look salon pretty without the price. Hope that helps! No red tones..I'm a male and used it in my beard among with 7-0 color 10 and 6% developer for a good brown/grey mix
