Works well and is inexpensive.
Inexpensive option for quality calcium heavy nutrients. Good for raised beds and large garden plots but may breakdown too slowly for potted plant garden growing.

Smells a bit fishy
Great fertilizer. Good source of nitrogen and phosphorus. As the shell breaks down, it will supply the plants with extra calcium. The chitin in the shell will also encourage the growth of protozoa and chitinase. It obviously smells fishy and like the ocean because it's an ocean amendment. Not my favorite smell but man is this stuff effective as well as biodiverse. Also another must have for the Coots Soil mix

Organics at it's BEST!!!!
If you're growing food in Florida you MUST HAVE THIS MUST HAVE! TONS of pulverized crab shells that will last forever or cover a HUGE garden! Sprinkle on top of your potting soil to prevent bugs and nematodes. The Perfect natural organic ingredient!!!

Seems to work well
I have a big slug/snail problem in the yard and although slug bait sort'a works, needed something more (heavy clay soil, lots of rain). In researching it, appears it retains moisture, builds organic elements in the soil, acts as a food source (nitrogen), contains chitin-eating bacteria to combat ants, slugs, snails, grubs, fungus and root nematodes. What's not to like? Well, time will tell. First time using it, my hostas are loving it, with only frost damage so far--no slugs. Might be a problem if you are shellfish allergic. Definitely smells of crab - an acquired taste perhaps since it doesn't bother me as long as it works. Smell doesn't seem to linger long though. My lab who will eat anything hasn't bothered it -- yet. Fingers crossed this will be a long-term benefit for the soil and plants.

A Stinky Tomato Growing Miracle!
Warning, it's stinky but it works. My tomatoes love this stuff. It is a great soil amendment. It's an organic multitasker. It acts as a supplemental slow release fertilizer, promotes beneficial soil organisms that fight various insects, fungus, and nematodes, and if that isn't enough, it also supplies additional calcium to help prevent the dreaded and all too common blossom end rot on tomatoes. I highly recommend that anyone trying to grow tomatoes give this a try. You won't be sorry! You do need to put this meal in a sealed container to contain the smell though. The box this crab meal is packaged in isn't all that sturdy anyway. It's a little on the pricey side but you don't have to use that much to get results.

This stuff works!
I live in Central West Coast Florida, sandy soil and root knot nematode haven!! For the last two years I’ve been using a ton of very expensive soil augmentation products to no avail. After last year’s failure I did some research and found this product. I tilled my soil as usual, laid down a layer of black cow, sprinkled some of the crab product and added another layer of good organic planting soil. I planted all my veggies, side dressed with a bit more crab. It’s been two months and I have got to say this is the best garden I have ever had. This product is amazing!! I posted my results on my gardening group page and was surprised as to how many of them already knew about it and have also had great success with this product! I am a customer for life!!
