YaqiAdjustable Chrome Double Edge Safety Razor

As safety razors go this Yaqi adjustable is of good quality. The fit and finish I cannot fault and for the price, is excellent. As a bonus, the razor can be taken fully apart [see pic] for cleaning (apart from the handle proper where the securing knob/mechanism is captive) - but take care to ensure the adjustment wheel goes back the right way round; get it wrong and the razor won't operate correctly! Blade line-up is spot on and there is no uneven exposure on either side. The razor adjusts in small increments as you go up/down through the numbers as you would expect. I have found the best way to adjust the razor is to slacken off slightly the knob at the bottom of the handle, make the adjustment to your liking and re-tighten the knob. There is absolutely no need to slacken off the handle near the adjustment wheel - nor should you, I would suggest, for adjustment purposes. Think - if you have had experience of one - Gillette Slim/Fatboy/Black Beauty adjustables.I prefer mild razors; and this is where my opinion of this razor becomes subjective in. To me, even on setting 1 it is, at best, medium aggression, rather like the Edwin Jagger DE89 series but slightly more so (but nowhere near the Merkur Futur!!); and as such I don't find it possible to get a 'mild' setting, no matter how many times I might take it apart and reassemble it in the hope of some miracle or other!So, bottom line, if you prefer a more 'aggressive' razor this could be right up your street. If not, maybe there are more suitable options to choose from. But I stick with the 5***** rating simply because of the quality, fit & finish for the price.The service from Garfield at Nice4Shaves was exemplary as usual. Thank you!

This is a great adjustable razor for the price.The settings coller from 1 to 6 work very well, and click on every number.The grip is excellent, and no matter how much soap you have on your hands it won't slip.This razor is really called the Yaqi final cut, as this is there final phase of this razor, which was based on the French Gibbs razor, which is almost identical.Great Shave well worth the money.

I was very impressed with the shave, that this razor gave me. Being aware that this adjustable razor, goes pass setting 6, to what would be setting 9. I used settings 3, 5 & 7 and a third use Muhle razor blade, this razor gave me a comfortable BBS shave.
