Good device - Some quirks
Big fan of this Nebula 1080p projector. We stream everything and all streaming services deliver content in 720 or 1080 in limited cases (Youtube TV, Sling, Hulu, Fubo, etc.) The same holds true with DirectTV, Spectrum, XFINITY, Cox, you name it cable providers. No real need for a 4k projector at this point. Maybe in 3-5 years if those providers get their act together. We've watched 4k programs on Amazon Prime rendered in 1080p natively. Image quality is solid. 100% worth the cost. I got it on Black Friday and got a pretty good deal. Happy with the purchase.Colors out the box lean on the cooler side but all are correctable. Good out-of-the-box autofocus with manual adjustment if needed (I've never had to use it). Keystone is good but know that your backlit area doesn't change. (IE - If you mounted it and your throw ratio is wrong you'll have light bleed).Android 9.0 is good - Nebula connect is a little goofy but most people by now have a streaming device you can use if you don't like the UI. Nebula Connect app is solid.Biggest gripe - lack of mounting instructions and the projector doesn't recognize it's upside down when ceiling mount. The NEBULA loading screen is upside down as is the Android loading screen. It gets corrected once the device fully loads but it looks terrible. I'll avoid people from seeing this as much as possible. It takes a device that looks over $1,000 easily and cheapens it. Expected better from Nebula. The sound system is more than adequate for your typical user. Way better than a TV speaker system. On par with a budget soundbar....who really "needs" more? Nebula is pretty quiet with the fan. I do not notice it once we turn something on.Ocassionally - the project is black after startup. Not sure if this an app glitch or what but the home screen doesn't load. I'm trying to reach Anker's support team.

Recommend! BEST Smart Projector Used so far. LOVE it!
The media could not be loaded. I was choosing between this cosmos and the capsule MAX, and I chose this one eventually. I had to say this is the best projector I used so far. The setup is super easy and 1080p picture is much more clear than what I expected especially during the night. I also tried to use this projector during the afternoon at 3pm (as you can see in the picture), and it still performed not bad. I had another $300 projector two years ago, but compared with this cosmos, that projector was just a joke lolol. I thought this project would be a lit bit heavy and big, but actually it was super small and light which means you can just move it around to whereever you want it to be.Another thing to mention is that you don't actually need external speakers for this projector. It comes with a great internal speaker (with dolby digital plus, so the sound is really impressive). As for the apps, I can find all apps that I need from the store such as Netflix, Hulu, CBS, Disney+ ... (Android TV system). Anyway, I think this projector definitely worth the price that i paid, and it just gave me another reason to stay home during COVID-19.

Great picture, iffy sound
This is a good projector. The picture is great. I find the sound just ok. I find movie dialogue is not very clear so I end up watching most things with the subtitles on. You may need to buy a soundbar to round out this purchase.

Nebula/Anker has become a disappointment
It’s best to avoid this company, they’ve become extremely shady and profit hungry the past few years. You get one deal putting your products in the Apple Store and let it go to their heads. I already owned the Nebula Cosmos 1080p for a few years now. It was a perfect home theater projector, and great for quick outdoor movie nights. But over the years the quality has diminished in mine, thought it would be smart to just replace it with the same one so I went through my order history and just clicked buy it again. Get the new projector (again supposed to be the same as my old one) and get it set up and it’s a drastically different product. Colors are muted even with HDR turned one, full white brightness is almost half of my old projector even after all these years of use. Also what’s odd is the advertising, I kept the old box from my old projector, and the new box shows the company has tampered with the specs they just don’t want to admit it. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a call and even their calls sound very shady, the prompts before speaking to a person just list all the ways their warranty ISN’T going to help you which is super weird and then asking to return their clearly different projector telling me I must pay to return the product even though it’s not even close to what was advertised. Originally I was going to just look the other way and splurge on the 4K version, but after talking to them they just feel kind of deceptive and that’s not something I’m interested in dealing with, if I order a product I want it to be as advertised and now their untrustworthy, I’m not going to shell out $1000 to not get exactly what I’m expecting. I miss the old Anker, they’ve let everything go to their heads. I wish people would read more reviews, myself included because if you notice all the recent reviews under their products are 1 star bad reviews and now I understand. I’ve included pictures of both the old and new packaging so you can clearly see a tampered with product. On the call they did say they use new ways to measure lumens but when I can see with my own two eyes a drastic difference between my 4-ish year old projector and a brand new one, someone’s done something. Again I’m going to say it, I miss the old Anker. Not sure where they went wrong but they’ve lost their shine, it’s much better to just go with a different brand, not worth the hassle of dealing with them anymore. I also don’t like companies that don’t respond to BBB reviews, if you ignore your upset customers that doesn’t make you any better than a scammer. In a way I’m glad I ordered this, I’m finally going to try an XGIMI projector and judging by their reviews it’s going to be a much nicer product. RIP Nebula by Anker, you will truly be missed.
