It does what it promises to do.
I've used one of these on a few vintage receivers that don't have pre-outs. I use the receivers as the pre-amp and my power amps to run the juice to the speakers. Easy Peasy. Works like a charm.

Crystal clear audio and money saver
I purchased these because my Denon AVR-S970H didn't have pre-outs and I wanted to drive my Definitive Technology Demand D15 speakers with more power. Bingo! These converters did the trick! The sound is perfect and no hum or distortion. You can always install them on a piece of wood like I did and keep them out of the way of anything else, or if you're worried put tape over it to cover them up. That is the only drawback they don't have a little enclosure. As another reviewer mentioned, if your receiver does not have pre-outs, then it will not have a trigger output to switch on the amp. The work around that I found for this was to splice a USB cord to a 3.5 mm audio cord. Then you plug the USB and into the TV, and the 3.5 mm into the amp. You have to make sure that the USB only is powered when the TV is on, if it is then you will be in business!

Does the job well
Fantastic product, so glad this exists. This solved a big problem for me. My favorite receiver doesn't have pre-out jacks and I wanted to use it with my Marantz amp. There were a few different options but this was the easiest and enabled me to integrate all my existing equipment without any significant modification.

Does it work as advertised??
The Russound line out converter looks very raw and basic with its open elements bared to see. Hooking the unit up is a breeze when you discover how to open the prongs to hold the speaker wire as the documentation lacks that information. The RCA hookups are straightforward. The item works as advertised but at nearly $40 you have to justify its purchase. In my case ,hooking up a class A/B amp made a wonderful addition to my speakers quality of sound.

It’s a money saver!!
I thought I was going to have to buy another receiver but I was wrong! Just make sure you hook it up exactly like the other photo! I accidentally hooked it up with the speaker wire on the other negative channel. It worked but with mono and a nasty hum from my sub speaker. Now I figured it out…the hum is gone! I would highly recommend this if you have extra gear or active speakers and not sure what the solution is…look no further!!

Works great, no clipping
Used on a Yamaha receiver that only has pre-outs for the front channels to send surround channels through a wireless transmitter. No issues with it except that it isn't available with any kind of enclosure, but it's in a cabinet anyway so no big deal.
