This saved my wedding gig
My go to lens for the past 7 years has been the Fuji 35mm 1.4. i was kind of hesitant to add this to my kit, but found that in low light and fast moving scenarios at weddings, this lens vastly outperformed the 35mm in regards to locking autofocus, and getting the shot. When the dance floor was packed, and the light was very dim, i simply couldn't get the 35mm 1.4 to lock on... however the viltrox did, nearly all of the time. The lens is sharp, fast and in my experience very reliable. The only thing I didn't like was the click less aperture, but that i could live with, especially regarding the benefits and the low cost compared to the Fuji 23mm 1.4. highly recommended.

Very good deal for a 1.4 lens
I got this as a backup for my fuji 23 and a a travel lens. I am really impressed with the build quality, pretty solid and metal. Seems to focus just just fine & has enough sharpness for me. Its really impressive when you consider it's really not that expensive for a 1.4 lens. I am very happy with it.

One of the best lenses
This lens it’s one of my most used lenses. It’s great for both photo and video and focus quality is great after the updates. I use it on my Xh2S and it delivers

Beware of Quality Control
First of all shout out to Pal2Tech on YouTube for reviewing and recommending this lens. After shooting with this lens for one week I had a suspicion that my lens was softer than expected when wide open. Every positive review I read mentioned how sharp this lens is, but that was not my experience. Luckily for me Pal2Tech on YouTube had provided sample raw files from the tests he did on his review and I was able to compare those mine. It was evident that my lens was not as sharp.I went ahead and ordered a second lens to confirm and sure enough my original lens was much softer. I shot a series of pictures, back to back, using the same camera settings and manual focus. The picture I uploaded shows the original lens on the left and the new one on the right. You be the judge, but I see a clear difference. So this review is to warn others that your unit may or may not be what you expect, and I suggest you test out your lens before choosing to keep it.However, despite all that, I am still giving this lens 4 stars. Now that I have a sharper unit that is more in line with the other reviews I've read, I think this lens is great for the price. Good image quality, color, bokeh, fast auto focus, and solid build. I wish quality control was a little better but overall I am happy with this purchase.

Good Lens - could be great
I purchased this about two months ago and have been using it off and on with an X-T4 body. From a photography perspective if I am framing a single shot or using AF-S mode it works flawlessly. Things start to go a bit south when we move to AF-C or movie mode. It will pulse, flutter or 'breathe' like crazy - it will show the green box around the subject - but the background will keep going into and out of focus - I have tried this from 1.4->2.8 and it looks like the same behavior is seen. If the subject stays VERY still it seems to be ok (sometimes)This becomes especially apparent if the scene has something very readable as it goes from nicely out of focus to basically in focus. For reference I have tried this with the 1.0.9 firmware it came with and the newer 1.1.2 firmware available for download on their website.

Slightly bigger than some
A Well made Lens and i was able to produce some great images with a nice colour rendition om my Fuji X-Pro 1I have to admit i was on the fence a bit as to the Fuji version Tokina version or this oneafter doing some research it looks as though the Tokina and the Viltrox are one and the same lens albeit with different markings .The Viltrox is a nice price and that swayed me in the end ,so for most users out there i would expect you like me would be perfectly happy ..

Initial quality (1 week) is stellar
You need to understand that I own or have owned many Fuji lenses including their top-of-the-line Red Badge lenses. I owned both the Fuji the 23 F/2 and 23 F1.4. I rejected one for being too slow and noisy and the other for being too soft. This lens is fast to focus, sharp and quiet. The manual focus is superb- and I'm an old guy who used manual focus lenses on 35mm and medium format for years.Chromatic aberration- yes it has some but so do my Fuji lenses. I read the reviews about the chromatic aberration so I tried to create some. I could demonstrate some chromatic aberration but when I thought about how hard I had to work to create it, I realized most people would NEVER notice. I also intentionally created some uncorrectable purple fringing, but I had to over-expose a lot to make it happen. I even did some photos of a black wrought-iron fence in snow to check out the fringing. No problems.I've been doing this for a long time - no lens is perfect. This lens is a good purchase.Picture: High contrast, no chromatic problems. Also extremely sharp. All in all, I'm keeping this one after rejecting the Fuji alternatives.

Item not new
Item was not new. Box seal was cut. There's dust on both the front and back of the lens. Also came with the wrong lens hood.In terms of image quality, sharpness is OK but purple fringing is so bad. Out of focus area is also very ugly and harsh. Not sure if it's just my copy.
