Brilliant, feature-packed monitor. But wait for a price drop.
This 27" Dell monitor has a brilliant picture. Tiny fonts are very sharp and readable. Colors are accurate and very pleasing. Viewing angles are great, and no bad pixels. At 60 hz, everything is smooth. The bezels are small; I'm sure you can find monitors with smaller bezels yet, but these bezels are plenty small for me.The monitor's stand offers a lot of adjustability. The screen can slide up or down, tilt forward or backward, you can turn the screen to the left or right without changing the position of the base, and you can rotate the screen 90 degrees to use it in portrait mode!!!The monitor is like a powered USB-C hub for your laptop. I have connected the monitor to my printer, my external webcam, the USB dongle for my Logitech wireless USB mouse, and one or two other peripherals. Then I run a single USB-C cable from the monitor to my M1 Macbook Air. That cable brings power to my Mac, brings the video signal from my Mac to the monitor, and allows my Mac to communicate with the other devices attached to the monitor. I do not need to plug anything else into my Macbook.I previously owned a 24" 4K Dell monitor, a 2015 model that served me well for 6 years. It still works, but I donated it to my local college. The new U2720Q is a substantial upgrade in every way, which is what you'd expect for a newer product compared to an older product. It cost me only $100 more than the 24" 4K Dell monitor did back then. For my needs, it's money very well spent. There are very few downsides. The main one IMO is the unpredictability of the price. For a long time, it was around $675. I put it in my cart, so I'd be more likely to notice price drops. The price did eventually drop to $525, and that's when I bought it. A week later, the price was $550, and at the moment I'm typing this, it's $999!!!!So my advice is, put it in your cart and wait for the price to drop to $500-550.Another downside is that most of the jacks that you plug stuff into is on the bottom of the monitor. Easy to unplug cables, but hard to plug them in because you can't see the jack you're plugging them into. If you don't plug and unplug things into the monitor very often, this is totally not a big deal. What else? It doesn't have built-in speakers. For me that's a plus, mostly, because my external computer speakers sound way better than any speakers built into monitors. The one downside is, if you plug an iPad into this monitor using HDMI to watch a movie or do anything else that involves sound, you should know that the iPad transmits sound and image over the HDMI cable, and the iPad cannot also output sound to any other device except bluetooth speakers or headphones. That's not the iPad's fault or the monitor's fault, it's due to HDMI. If you had a monitor with built-in speakers, you could output the picture and sound from a laptop, iPad, or other device to watch movies, youtube videos, etc without having to figure out a work-around to get audio. For me, not a big deal, but you should be aware if you want a monitor to play movies over an HDMI connection. No monitor is perfect. This one is pretty darn close. Highly recommended - but don't spend too much on it, wait for the price to come down.

The clarity is top notch
I opted for quality over quantity. This monitor does not disappoint. Comparing side by side to my 27" iMac (2011) model there is a clear difference. The colors are much better and the text is crystal clear. i bought this to go with my new m1 mac mini coming. i can't wait to see the pair together.I have a dell 34" curved at work and the fonts are not as near sharp as this. This is where the PPI is so important. Even the dell 32" flat screen the next size up from this has less ppi. This 27" is perfect for the money. I got lucky on timing that it just happen to be at an all time low of $546.Rtings rates this as one of their best 4K monitors out there. Some people have noted some issues with it. Well now days what don't we have issues with when it comes to technology? It's sad but true no matter how much you spend there will be issues. You just have to pick what you can live with. I have only been running this a couple days so who knows what the future holds but for now this thing rocks!Do your own research as always. Just remember to take user reviews with a grain of salt. No everyone can be pleased. Some will say the thing sucks just because of the brand. Compare the specs. Thats where you will find the truth about what you are looking at.If you buy based on reviews then buy this one. The colors pop, the brightness is awesome and the clarity of the text will blow you away. Looking at my old iMac display is so disappointing now. Good luck with your endeavor!

Very nice monitors
I bought these when they were on sale, but even with the discount, they were pricey. But, these are really nice monitors that I expect not needing to replace for a very long time. The functionality is all I need, with all the ports and position adjustments. The picture quality is beyond complaint. The only downsides to these are: weight and the TB ports don’t allow daisy chaining when using two or more of these. I bought two to use with a Mac Studio (via TB), an Ubuntu Beelink Mini PC (via HDMI) and an HP Thin Client (via DP), and they worked well.

Nearly perfect, but a little disappointing
It’s a beautiful piece of equipment to have on your desk. However, as an Apple user, I find the colors to be a bit off even after calibration and fiddling with the settings - always too saturated. I also love the built-in hub that can also power your computer through USB-C, but if you want to control brightness or sound, you have to use HDMI or DP, which is frustrating. I’d also love it if the ports pointed outward instead of downward to make access easier. Overall, it’s nearly perfect, but for such an expensive monitor, I’m a little disappointed.

This is a great monitor!
I purchased this to replace an older (slightly smaller) Dell monitor that I loved. I researched so many monitors -and it's pretty confusing with all the different ones available and similar specs, etc. I'm an artist/designer and use Photoshop and Illustrator every day -and wanted something that compared to my older monitor and had similar features. I purchased another one first and the picture just seemed sort of dim -without the depth of black I was used to -so I returned it. I searched for one that had a better contrast ratio -and this one was higher than most (1300:1) at this price point. This monitor has all of the adjustments I need, can swivel to portrait mode if I'm working on a tall mural -and has beautiful color and contrast. This is exactly the same as the U2720Q -the only difference is: the U2720Q monitor comes with a Display Port cable, and the U2720QM monitor comes with an HDMI cable. I don't use for gaming so I can't review that aspect. The factory color calibration is pretty accurate -but I did turn down the brightness in addition to a few other minor tweaks. The buttons for adjustments are easy to reach. This seems to be somewhere between lower end monitors -and the high-end monitors costing $1500 or more. It suits my needs and is a good value.
