Of all the things I have purchased through Amazon, I can honestly admit that this is my first highest recommendation. The built, sturdiness, overall quality is top notch. I am very impress that I place another order for the bigger model. It is truly made in Japan and not in China (a bugger plus).

I have absolutely loved using oroshigane Japanese graters. I got the mini-large oroshigane Japanese grater on the right as a gift item for a friend for upcoming Christmas. It is roughly the size of a 3x5 index card. After receiving the first one, I placed an order for a second one after thinking of another cooking-minded friend I may want to gift this to.I am sure both individuals will end up enjoying this grater thoroughly. However, I was a little let down to receive the second grater and have it come in a simple plastic sleeve rather than a nice paper box, which is a rather lackluster unboxing experience when it comes to gift-giving.Perfect for grating ginger and garlic. I've tried carrots and apples but that came out somewhat weird. I will have to experiment a little more, however.

Perfect for garlic, ginger and horseradish. Easy to clean, I use a toothbrush.

Get ready to work! Takes a bit of effort to use Of several garlic/ginger graters that I have, this grater is the easiest to clean. Genuine Japanese product. No care instructions included which would have been helpful.
