Ease of assembly, good value for money

This lifter takes much of the heavy work out of plaster boarding ceilings. It is easy to use single handed but, as always, better with two people. Throw away the assembly instructions as they seem to be for a totally different model! Assembly is intuitive as there is only one way it can fit together but take care with the clamp which secures the wire to the wheel - some additional security may be required here to prevent it slipping through especially when lifter is fully loaded and extended. This almost happened to me as crimped end came away otherwise would have given this product five stars.

Bought this Board hoist to enable me to overboard a garage ceiling with 12mm plywood on my own. Does the job brilliantly. Putting it together was a bit of a chore and I ended up using videos and pics online of other hoists to help me set it up initially.There were steps missing in the instructions and the photos showed completely different parts that were not included with my equipment but it’s fairly self explanatory once you get your head around it.Great value for money considering the cost of hiring someone else to help for a couple of days so saved the client some money.

I wouldn't consider this heavy duty more for handyman although most of it it is strong the tilting and swivel headis the most important part takes a lot of weight and is very weak made from very thin steel and don't see it lasting long had it be at least twice as thick would given it 5 stars

Good solid product. Not too hard to assemble. Have now installed over 60 ceiling plasterboards using this and it really does allow you to do it with only one person. Adjustable arms are handy when fitting smaller, end boards, and leg adjustments allow you to manoeuvre the lifter into tighter positions. I even use it when fitting long narrow boards at the and of a ceiling run.

Bought this to assist with building our extension as i have previous experience of putting up 8 x 4 sheets of plasterboard on the ceiling. Not easy, you need help and its an argument waiting to happen.This was fairly easy to set up, though the instruction manual could have been far clearer. the base of the stem doesn't fit snugly into the V shape at the bottom, which caused me a heart attack the first time i went to use it.Once resolved, this is a great piece of kit with a few goes at working out how to position the board right.its easy to use, you can do it on your own, though a second pair of hands, wouldn't hurt.I think its worth the money and i would thoroughly recommend it.
