excellent for the price.
I bought this dovetail jig after weeks of reading reviews and comparing the pros and cons of all the dovetail jigs on the market. I decided on the Rockler jig due to it's versatility versus it's cost. The Porter Cables I looked at were definitely the most versatile but with a heavy price tag that I wasn't willing to pay. Upon receiving the Rockler jig I briefly read over the instructions and I had the hang of cutting blind dovetails on the first attempt. The slight adjustments were easy to make in order to make the tight joints I was looking for. With the jig I was able to finish making six drawers for a dresser I had crafted.Upon making more decorative joints with it, I was able to produce astonishing work. The joints were too tight at first but once I made the slight adjustments; the tails and pins went together like a glove.I can say that I have been throughly satisfied with this product. I have put it to the test time and time again, and I'm always satisfied with the results the jig produces. If someone can't make a sound dovetail joint with this jig, then they might as well hang up their router.

Good tool, and with careful setup, good results
I purchased this product a little over a year ago and have used it to make numerous drawers and a couple of small chests where the entire sides were dovetailed. First off, the initial setup and test cutting is painstakingly slow, but easy nonetheless. I have had great success using this jig, and will continue to use it.The only issue I ran into was the 8mm collet reducer included in the kit. As another reviewer noted, it gets stuck quite easily. Luckily I didn't get stuck down inside the router, and I was able to get it out using a hammer and screwdriver. In fact, every time I use it it gets stuck, and I get it out the same way, gently tapping it out with a small hammer a screwdriver. Also as another reviewer noted, if you are using stock of different widths (for instance drawers of different heights), you have to make your cuts on all boards of a given width before moving on, because you have to release the stop bar to access the side stop adjustments and releasing the stop bar means you have to re-align everything.

Not worth spending money on this jig
Router bits didn't fit my router, only fits Rockler I guess. I have craftsman and Dewalt routers and it doesn't fit either one.Instructions are very poor and contradicts itself, one picture shows important to align the bottom evenly an the next three show the bottom realigned differently. After going through 10 to 12 scrap cuts I gave up, wouldn't want to wast good product trying to make a joint. I have a cheap jig from 30 years ago that works better, but only did 8 inches.

Great joints on drawers and boxes.
It takes some set up but it works great. Be patient and keep the directions handy

Good concept, collet could be better
The jig is a great product overall. It does what it is supposed to and once you read the instructions, re-read, re-read again, and re-read once more and give it a go, it is fairly intuitive how the jig works and produces good results. Like others, you've got to be careful with the template and only remove when you are fully out of the template. I accidentally nicked mine, but not at the top, so the bushing still works with the template. Also, be wary of the cheap and ill-constructed 8mm collet reducer included. It slid into my hitachi router and became permanently stuck. I thought I was going to have to buy a new router, but managed to drill the old one out (desperate measures!) without hurting my router. As a replacement collet reducer, I suggest looking for one here on Amazon and you can find the one that is durable, made in the USA, and has an oversized lip so the reducer won't slide too far into the collet. Well worth the minimal investment versus a ruined router.Overall jig is great for the average woodworker, just become very familiar with the instructions, watch the youtube videos, and GET A BETTER COLLET!!!
