2008 Prius touring
Had lots of weird faults with the Prius some of which I attributed to having replaced my stolen catalytic converter/O2 unit myself. Needless to say, I don't have an 0bd2 reader that works with the detailed prius codes. Finally a unique set of issues let me know that it was a failed coolant pump. Car drives fine but then it happens around 100 miles (temperature sensitive) these issues pop up, the different car warning lights come on (warning, check engine, VSC, or finally brake), also the AC stops cooling, and eventually limp mode. After replacing the coolant pump a couple months ago and driving locally (20-45 minute each way), I just made a longer trip (2.5 hours each way) with no issues. Seems as good of quality from the outside as what came with it. There's only one bolt that was really annoying, overall not a difficult job to replace ( I used cheap hose clamps) and there are youtube videos.I did take the opportunity of having the front trim and headlight off the car to replace both my bulbs which can save you some time.Edit 2023: Exactly 2 years to the week this replacement pump failed. Unlike the newer pumps (post Toyota recall) when this one dies it kills everything in the car ( except 12v battery items, so basically the lights will work only). We got it towed back but replacing the 15 amp AM2 fuse will allow it to work again temporarily ( but will keep blowing frequently), you could also temporarily bypass the inverter coolant pump I think. As a side note , the new headlights I replaced at the same time also starting going out at the exact same time ( 2 year lifespan as well) so they were replaced again also. I did go with the more expensive OEM pump this time around to avoid the car dying in the highway in 2 more years.

Seems to be a quality product. Great price
First off know this review is being written after having installed this inverter pump only six days ago and in that time we've driven maybe 220 miles. So I'm giving the product 5 stars because it's working just fine to this point. I expect anyone looking to buy one of these pumps wants to see a fellow Amazoner's review stating it's been working great for 50,000 miles. I cannot attest to the longevity of this product yet but will make a note to see if I can update this review a few thousand miles in the future.Bought this part to replace the factory original inverter water pump on our 2008 Toyota Prius (which had 153,000 miles on it). I learned it needed replacing because a large red triangle with a red " ! " inside was displayed on the console, as well as the check engine light turned on. I installed my OBDII reader to see only a P0A93 code indicating "Inverter Water Pump Failure". Once I replaced the part with this product I cleared the code. All done.I found several good videos on YouTube on how to replace this inverter pump so installation was pretty straightforward (having a little experience in auto repair will be helpful).

This part lasted only 6 months
We were stuck along side of the road due to this replacement part failing. The car shut off, no dash lights, but headlights, dome light, another other things worked. It was extremely dangerous loosing everything like that on the highway. Luckily, I was in the right lane and could pull over quickly. This could have been a much worse situation. I bought this part and replaced it in July/August 2023. It failed February 2024.BTW: This failure mode, while dangerous, saved the car as this failure, requires that you shut the card down right away. I think this is why Toyota has it when the fuse blows due to the pump failing, that the car shuts off. The OEM part does not blow the fuse when it fails, which is why this part should only be replaced with an OEM part. This part is not a replacement, unless you are looking to fix the car again real soon.

Good for the Price!
I installed this in May-June of 2021 and it fit perfectly. My first time ever doing this kind of repair on my 2009 Prius (or any car). Learned a lot. It lasted 3.5 years, until last Saturday 11/30/2024. Started shorting out and blew the AM2 fuse. Whole car was dead! Thank all the deities and non-deities for PriusChat.com! Way able to diagnose the problem and get it home.So did $25 compared to over $200 for OEM part, in very pleased. When the car is over 10 years old I choose which parts I'm splurge on. Just bought something similar this week to replace it. Fingers crossed!

Exactly what my 2007 Prius wanted (until it wanted something else)
I'm just starting to know the pleasure of fixing my own car vs paying a dealer 10x the price of the part for the same work. That was the case here. The dealer wanted around $200 for the part itself, plus normal labor charges. After viewing a couple videos, I did the entire job in about 90 minutes, and that was with the car making me get to the old part via the side, instead of the top. This part worked just like the original OEM part, and my Toyota was happy, until it decided something else needs to be replaced. Lol... But that's not this parts fault. To those considering if you should go OEM vs third party, go third party. I haven't had a problem with this part, and it felt very well made in my hands.

This is a backup
I have two of these. My oe pump on the Prius went on the side of the road and i had this backup in my trunk. The install was straight forward and quick. Got me running and I’m now running this for the past few months. I went and bought another just in case and keep that with me as this part will deadline your Prius easily. So far so good, will update with full details of if it goes bad and how the other backup i bough is doing.
