Understanding motivation
Although this refers to a past Olympics there is still so much to be learned from the discipline of this tremendous athlete. As a motivational text it’s hard to put down in terms of use for wider leadership studies, it lends itself well to group discussion on goal setting and the needs of the individual versus the team. The book isn’t long or necessarily complex however many of us would struggle to maintain the drive that Johnson describes, its good to use for perspective and the writing style makes for a quick read. Highly recommended.

Nice read, interesting point of view. Highly recommended for any track and field fan.
I love sport books, and I really loved this one. You could say it stands between the sport book and the motivational book, but i still think you can get the most out of it if you're a sport fan. Johnson gives you his point of view about setting goals, working hard toward them, maintaining focus and staying determined along the way. He also gives some advice about facing loss and disappointment.Though somebody may think it's a little pretentious here and there, it's still very entertaining and well written (especially if you're not mother tongue, like me), and I'm sure everybody can find a little motivation in it (especially if you love sports as I already said).Furthermore, you can find a lot of nice pictures not available on the web, and to me this is a great plus.
