Happy I Switched!
Bottom line: very happy with this mower. My house lawn is only about 100 square meters but it makes cutting it simple. I replaced an old and reliable corded electric mower which got the job done. However, this unit is lighter and the provided battery only shows 1 tick on the battery consumed after a normal cutting. I read some reviews that said that their mower did not pick up grass well - they must have left the mulching plug in - this thing works very well to collect grass and leaves.I upgraded to be able to take the mower to our chapel and cut the grass there. It has a convenient handle for lifting it (lighter than the old one) and the handle folds in a snap to fit in the back of my Zafira. The first mowing at the chapel had waited too long and the grass was at least 1 foot high (seriously). While it went through 2 batteries to cut about 50 square meters, it did cut it. The grass catcher is a very good size and holds a lot of grass. The mower does feel a bit light/"plasticy". However, it is holding up great so far - do not mistake light weight with weak or flimsy. Though it is not a cheap mower, it does what you want an electric to do: convenient, lightweight, portable, good at cutting grass. Now that I have the Ryobi battery packs it may be time to look at some new tools to plug them in to ...

A "Cut above the rest" Maybe
Having changed my old B&D cordless combination drill for a Ryobi 18V One two years ago, when my Bosch 34 LI died this week, I naturally looked to the Ryobi 18V+One range of garden tools, as I have several batteries already. Of course when one looks into these thing you find out that 18V they all may be but some tools require a bigger AH battery. So 1.5AH drill batteries really don't "cut the mustard or the grass" very well. All that said, I found the assembly a piece of cake and whilst I only had half of a lawn to mow, the Bosch had managed half, I couldn't wait to start. On with the grass box and away we go, well no not quite. There is the little matter of removing the cutter deck isolating assembly to allow the grass to flow into the grass box. Removing the grass box ( having isolated battery ) and opening flap all you see is a curving slipway of black plastic which at first glance looks like part of the whole cutting deck, except for a little black knob. ( No tittering please ). Pull and I mean pull on this and a whole section of the deck comes away to reveal grass channel from the blade. I think this will most likely never get reattached as I always use a collection box. Stored in the shed just in case. This mower is quiet, almost to the point of "Is it working". Light and easy to use. I cut higher than normal just to reduce the overgrown grass. The a second pass on level 3 was perfect for my garden. Now all I have to do is get the Bosch bit and Ryobi bit to the same height. Only one use so can not comment on durability save this. The Bosch was a 2004 model, so 19 years of use. Heavy ( very ) , 36V battery and undoubtedly a heavier motor. The Ryobi doesn't feel flimsy, well it does after the Bosch, and is unlikely to last 19 years, but equally it's unlikely I will last 19 years but that dear reader is a tale for another day.

Light weight and easy to use
An awesome light weight, manoeuvrable mower that is a lot quieter than the old petrol one it replaced.Could do with a little longer on yhe battery, but luckily I have another. All in all its great cutting that weeks growth on the lawn and hopefully a much greener footprint too.

Fantastic mower, wish I'd swapped from petrol earlier.
As expected, the single 4ah battery lasted 15 minutes on full use, at cut level 3. The clippings mulched amazingly well and I managed to complete my back garden 20m*11m and front small lawns in this time.I have Ryobi tools so had another 2 batteries ready to go if needed as I expected it to drain quicker than it did.I'd love to try with a 12ah battery if Ryobi wants to send me one to try 😉So much lighter than my petrol mower and cut just as well.

Lightweight, nimble and powerful
I was dubious in purchasing a battery powered mower as for 20yrs I've always used a self propelled petrol mowers from when I use to be a gardener. Firstly I noticed the weight difference it's very light which is easier for me to handle as I've got health problems now so it really does cut down on a lot of effort for me. Secondly the power is great I have a small front garden and a large back garden no problem with cutting and I used 1 full charge and 1 half charge on two 4.0Ah batteries and the grass had 3 weeks growth. Set up was very easy and very easy to clean and put away I do miss a self propelled mover but I can get over that so I'm very impressed and happy with my purchase.

UTTERLY USELESS
I have recently had a new lawn laid so it is perfectly flat, new grass. Please remember that when you read later comments. The lawn is 17ft X 27ft so not massive and the 4.0Ah battery struggles to complete that in one charge. The cut quality is poor and there are lots of long pieces left even when extra care has been taken to over lap the cuts. More cuts, more time, more battery issues. Sounds bad so far right? Wait, it gets worse. This has NO ability to pick up grass AT ALL. The bottom of the collection box had a light scattering of cuttings in there, the rest are all over the lawn and paths. And yes, the mulch plug definitely is OUT.So you go over it again and now only half the lawn is done and the battery is completely flat.Good points1 it folds up.....yep that's itOh I can the battery on my drill it because its not much use on the mower but that's hardly a good point, more damage limitation.Bad points1 it doesn't cut well,2 it doesn't pick the grass up AT ALL3 it struggles. With "long" grass. Remember I said it was a new lawn? It can't cope with that on setting 2 you have spin it up first by rocking it onto the rear wheels before trying anything ambitious like cutting a lawn. Even then, be prepared for it to stall and cut out.4 it goes through batteries like nobody's business5 desperately poorI've seen a number of YouTubers saying how good these are, don't believe it.DON'T BUT THIS! I'M NOW STUCK WITH THIS C**P
