Speed tests included for U1 and U3 cards
FeaturesThe new design is much improved over the older one and has a heavyweight aluminium body. It also is future proofed because of the USB type-c port but maintains the backwards-compatible USB type-A port.It also has a dedicated slot for micro sd cards which means you don't have to use two adapters at once anymore.Speed TestsI did a speed test with the older and newer integral card readers for usb to sd card. I tested both U1 and U3 Samsung SD cards. You can see the speed test results in the photos section. If you want to test usb devices yourself you can get Nirsoft USBDeview. As you can see this card reader is significantly faster than the older model on U3 speeds in particular. The write speed is almost doubles and the read speed is nearly 5 times faster! For the older U1 sd cards the write speed is only slightly faster but the read speed is nearly 2.5 times faster.PackagingEverything was in cardboard. Amazon had to stuff it up by placing the cardboard pouch in another cardboard pouch, but otherwise Integral did everything they could. They used zero plastics for packaging!ConclusionsSo overall this new card reader is far faster than the old ones and well worth the upgrade.

BUY TWO FOR TWICE THE DISAPPOINTMENT.
I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE "SDXC V30 UHS-I U3 Class 10 SD Memory Card, Black" (128GB). 1ST CARD WAS FINE FOR 50 SHOTS THEN FAILED, REFORMATTED CARD BUT STILL DID NOT WORK, JUST SAID "CANNOT ACCESS THIS MEMORY CARD",,, THOUGHT THIS MAY BE A ONE-OFF, SO TRIED THE 2ND SD CARD,,,, AFTER 60 SHOTS SAME RESULT "CARD MAY BE DAMAGED", NOT WORKING AFTER FORMATTING CARDS IN 4 DIFFERENT CAMERAS (& ON PC)... I WILL NEVER TRUST/BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN.

Great Performance & excellent Price
I started using these Integral cards in May 2019.I bought the first to see how it performed compared to the Samsung & Kingston cards I was using at the time after a couple of the Samsungs started playing up and I cannot risk losing the data if a card fails.I film a lot of local gigs on Canon 70D's & 80D's and these Integrals cope just fine with full HD video recording. You go through a 64gb card in about an hour at full video resolution so they don't get an easy life. These cards handle everything I've thrown at them without any issues at all.Prices on memory always drops as time goes by so the 1st card was 64gb @ £9.50.The last lot I bought in September were on offer so I got 4 x 128's for £34... an absolute bargain considering their perfomance. With Usb3 the Write speed on the 128's are just over 60Mb/s, with Read @ 86Mb/s , though obviously the speed will vary dependant on your camera & computer and you'll need faster if shooting 4K Video.
