Great Value for Those Inclined
The Hawk is a great bike but in an “if” situation.Buy it, assemble it, drive it as it comes and you will have some issues and possible reliability or longevity problems. This bike is great for those with a little mechanical inclination and common sense.Out of the gate the bikes needs a few upgrades that will make it perform better, have more reliability/longevity, and safer.Point being. There is great value here and you can have a quality plus reliable bike for a little more investment. There are plenty of videos and forums to support what is necessary and how to do it. Just don’t expect this to be a turn key and go bike or you will be disappointed. With the proper approach however it can be what you hoped for. I am very pleased!

Good bike for the money
Just unpacked the bike and haven't ran it yet. The reason is that a bolt that attaches the clutch lever perch to the handle bars was cross-threaded from the factory and when I tried to back it out it broke off. I've had to order a new replacement. Not a problem for running the bike, but the description says the bike comes with a cover, it does not. Once I get the needed parts and get it running I'll update my review.Update - I contacted the seller about the missing cover and one was sent out to me immediately. I've ran it many times now and it is running great and has only needed some normal adjustments and tuning. Because of these things I've upped my overall rating.

Runs good
So far so good - about 75 miles so far on it. Fast shipping and assembly was fairly straightforward and the bike fired up without any problems. Had no trouble getting the title and registration at the WV DMV. I'm 6'-2" 200 lb and it carries me around pretty well, probably better than I was expecting.

Overview of the Hawk
In my opinion, this is a great bike for the beginner rider. Plus, the experience putting it all together gives you an advantage by understanding how it works. Although there is no written instructions on how to assemble, there is a video there to watch (although written instructions with pictures would be nice). It was very easy to purchase and coordinate the delivery. The seller does a good job sending and notifying all of the needed information.

forget your preconceived notions about Chinese manufactured direct-to-consumer motorcycles
I've had this little motorcycle for about 3 months now, have been mostly riding it off-road. don't pay attention to the overwhelmingly negative reviews about these because 9 times out of 10 they're either entirely exaggerated or due to user error.why are these so cheap?1. they're based on a expired patent of the Honda CG125 motor. it's a bullet proof motor with a long history of use outside of the US. these motorcycles are so popular that Honda actually decided to finally introduce them in the US - check out the XR150L; i kid you not, it's literally the exact same motorcycle but with Honda badging. i wouldn't be surprised if they don't source the parts from the same Chinese manufacturers as these Hawks, although i'm sure with slightly tighter quality controls2. you're your own dealer support. dealers receive motorcycle from manufacturers in the exact same way you receive this bike: in a box, with the front wheel and handlebars uninstalled. the dealers assemble the bikes, change the oil, and inspect them before selling them. many of the problems people report about these are actually caused by negligent assembly and break-in. one thing you MUST do if you buy these motorcycles is CHANGE THE OIL FROM SHIPPING, it's junk oil. once you've changed it, then you can properly break in the motor.what do you get?the old adage is very true for this motorcycle: you get what you pay for. don't expect Honda/Yamaha/KTM quality because you will be disappointed. but you're also not getting pure junk. these motorcycles ARE cheap, but that's the whole point. all the important bits are completely fine - e.g., the welds on the subframe and frame are completely passable, the wiring is tucked away as it should be, and everything was included in the box.what should you do if you buy one?1. loctite absolutely every single bolt while you're assembling the motorcycle2. buy an oil cooler for it, especially if you plan on riding it off road in the summer3. buy an aftermarket carburetor that you can tune; these bikes are plugged up from the factory and run very lean4. the front suspension is very soft so you may want to replace the stock spacers to add some preload5. adjust the rear sag to suit your weightif you assemble and break in this motorcycle properly, temper your expectations, and forget your preconceived notions, you will have a perfect motorcycle for a beginner to learn how to ride off-road, or to commute. i bought this to get my girlfriend out on the trails with me and i have a WR450 that i normally take trail riding, but i've ridden this thing a few times and it's giving me the biggest grin while riding it.don't think too much, just buy one if you're on the fence

Broken frame
I haven't had the bike more than 2 months and the frame cracked. The seller and the manufacturer won't do anything to help me. Don't waste your money on this bike.

Easy assembly
Easy assembly! Although it was missing a part for the break light. Stickers were peeled up on a couple panels. Overall rides great for beginners

no instructions, but runs good
machine works great, came with everything you need, came with basic asembly tools and screws, shiping was fast, had to be present for signiture at drop off, came on a pallet, assembly more difficult without instructions, reccomend buying pre assmebled version, my rear break bar was bent almost couldnt attach it, dropped and broke shift handle easy, carb fine tune screw could be better but works, original battery totally blows buy a new one, original oil must be changed, kickstand could be longer and better angled, fender screws need locktight bc they vibrate lose, 5foot 10 and I use tip toes at stops, seats comfortable, lots of fun after the mechanic work lol
