Q: What is the metal thickness?

It's fairly thin but for me that is a bonus because its light and therefore easy to move. I have only used mine 4 or 5 times so far and had a fairly fierce fire going, the metal discolourd as it said it would but certainly withstood the heat. You do need to be not too rough with it though as it could be easily dented.

Q: I love this but will it rust

No signs of any rust, good quality stainless steel
