Keep original motherboard
At first I thought I ordered the wrong disc drive cause my ps4 wasn't allowing me to open my app , so I read the manual that came with the drive and all I had to do was switch the motherboard wit the original board, my PlayStation is now workin perfectly fine no issues, I like how then drive was tested before I received it and it comes with a warranty, I almost spent over 130 dollars for a 50 dollar fix. Thank you

defective
The first one that i ordered installed easily it wasn't until i went to inject a disk that i found out that it was defective it made a loud screeching noise so i returned it and got a replacement shipped too me that one too was also defective installed easily than when i went to inject a disk it would only go half way and wouldn't eject the disc i had to physically remove the disk by hand. The return process went smooth both times I'm not sure if i have bad luck or if this was just a bad batch of disk drives all i can say is buy at your own risk

Reads blue rays again!!
Long story short ps4 quit reading ps4 games/blue ray discs. Before you get this model make sure you're getting the right one based on the numbers on your motherboard.I got this drive, swapped out with the old one. Don't forget to swap your old mother board onto this drive! They have to be swapped for it to work. Make sure you also have the right tools to take apart. It wasn't extremely difficult, took me around 30-45 minutes to do while watching a video on how to do it. Everything works now for a fraction of the cost of sending it elsewhere or buying a new one. Definitely reccomend.

I wouldn't call it "new" but it did work as described

Parts used, not tested
The drive inrecieved was not BDP-20 model which is fine, it turns out the hardware matches So I just had to switch the daughterboard.The real problem is that the new drive was obviously used from another system and was also broken and sounded like a saw.Thankfully, the new drive had a motor problem and my old had a laser problem so I was able to disassemble the hardware and swap the laser.

Worked but didn’t fix problem
It came well packaged and all together. Everything worked that came with it. However if your data board (disc drive) is the problem then this won’t help because you can’t swap boards (disc drive) with your old board (disc drive). The PS4’s motherboard is married to your original board (in the drive) making it to where if you swap the disc drive boards your console will not read the discs.

Are a disc and damage it immediately!
Did not work and are a game down immediately. Terrible. Would give a 0 star if it was an option.
