When taking this supplement, I notice improvements in energy levels, focus, and even pain relief. There is no taste and the effects on my sleep quality are mixed. The quality of the ingredients appear to be good, and the supplement comes in a convenient size. In terms of functionality, it serves it's purpose - it improves mood.

For what it's worth, I'm really not sure if this product had any benefits for me or not. I did take one capsule for a few weeks with a powdered drink supplement (it contained B6 and C, as was recommended) I don't think I noticed anything...a few times I did feel a little bit of tightening up, just a quick spell, nothing serious. A few times I tried 1000 mg instead of 500. The caps are fairly easy to swallow . I didn't finish the bottle, I may go back to it again later down the road, but for now just don't think this supplement was for me.Just want to add a little update for 11/13...Out of curiosity I went back to my half-used bottle yesterday, decided to try another experiment and skip the St Johns Wort to avoid convoluted results and took two again, and after seeing another reviewer on here who mentioned improvement with a dose of about 2000mg, then proceeded to take two more, followed by my usual washing it down with vitamin-enhanced water....all quiet for awhile, but later on noticed my lower back pain had lessened and didn't feel as sluggish. I did finally take some of my SJW but cut the dose to about 600 mg. Wow, what a difference....My mood did get a little boost. Not in a manic, hyper kind of way either, which is great. Just took the edge off so to speak.I slept well last night with no "jitters" still feel the effects today, not wanting to "jink" it so I have taken half that amount -1000mg - today. All well and good.I guess I see that "May cause anxiety..." on the label and it was off-putting at first...Thank you to the other reviewer "Gail" for making me want to give it another chance!So the long and the short of this is, you can start small and work up a little. I've given it 4 stars now instead of 3.

Wow!!!!! I don't normally write reviews and I've been buying pretty much everything from here. DL phenylalanine is a miracle!!! I'm on a stimulant for ADHD and I've been working out regularly, eating healthy, and taking a lot of daily supplements for the past few years (L-tyrosine, fish oil, vitamin D, Curcumin, Magnesium, Multi vitamins, CLA, tart cherry extract, CoQ10, PQQ, Lysine, Cruciferous Vegetable, and about 5-6 other supplements- each of those have many different neurotransmitters, minerals, and vitamins). Nothing works like this one. I've been dealing with emotional trauma and questioning the meaning of life. I couldn't see the point of life because we are all going to die anyway... I couldn't feel any pleasure in life an everything was just blah. Now I can see why people want to live- life is about feeling, pleasure, sensation. I am just so excited to be able to feel excited again!!! DLP makes me feel content, bliss, happy and satisfied. I almost forgot what it felt like to be alive- the beautiful weather, soft comfortable blanket, the smell of flowers etc. I can sincerely laugh and be happy again. I feel love and peace in my heart....wow, wow, and wow. Life is beautiful.

Life extension makes great products. I figured I would try this one for my chronic pain. The first time I had about half hour of euphoria after taking and for that reason it helped with pain. Next day took it at the same time and Im not sure if it helped with pain or not because within an hour I was very emotional which is not like me. The next day I took it at the same time again and continued to be very emotional. I stopped taking it and back to my regular self again. So apparently this supplement is not for me but looks like is working for others.

Mood upgrade It's known to boost dopamine and I notice my focus and mood is better 100% sure it rasied my dopamine. Dopamine competes with prolactin in the body. When prolactin is high dopamine is low. When dopamine is high sexual performance is raised tremendously. At orgasm dopamine drops and prolactin shoots up. There is a inverse relationship between the two When one is higher than the other. Men need dopamine to be higher than prolactin to feel good. For example when prolactin is low after orgasm, your body can "reload" your erections quicker. If prolactin is high it might take you 30mins to an hour to reload. Men should care to optimize Dopamine and lower prolactin. You can assume prolactin is high and dopamine is low if your performance is low.

I got a tip from someone that if you take 2 in the morning on empty stomach and 2 in the afternoon during the first 2 weeks of kicking coffee, it aides in the side effects. It really works. I was able to wean off coffee pain free. Unfortunately I ended up drinking coffee again lol but at least I know that if I ever feel like giving it another go, I know I can use this to help with the process. Highly recommend.

I have been cycling on and off this supplement monthly for 3 years. This is the first time ordering this brand. I took it for 40 days and felt zero effects. I think I’ll stick with other brands. They may be more expensive but they actually work. I really wish the FDA would regulate supplements. Lots of shady companies out there and you’re putting your health in their hands by ingesting whatever they want to call it.
