Works Well Even on Heavy Books
This book holder seems to be of solid construction. It works well for both small books and large books. The biggest book I happen to own is an old, thick tome of thousands of pages: Van Nostrand's Scientific Encyclopedia. The book hung off the front lip a lot when closed (70% off), and still some when open. So, I used the stand with its highest tilt setting. The book would still hold it and I could turn pages. It could hold Princeton's Companion to Mathematics no sweat. That is also a large book but small compared to Van Nostram's.I like how it looks from the front. The look from the back is tolerable.

Best made all wood reading stand I have ever had.
Everything this reading stand is used for is FANTASTIC. Hand crafted design. It gives you a height feature, a page holder feature and so much more. Easy to use in bed or sitting in chair. Does not hurt your arms or neck muscles and back muscles holding up a book, heavy or lightweight!!! Just love it.

A great book stand!
I purchased this book stand to put my notes on when I make Zoom presentations. It sits on my desk just to the right of my computer. I can adjust the height so that the pages are level with my eyes. This book stand is very sturdy and stable. It isn't very lightweight, but I don't consider that a detriment. As sturdy as it is, it has to weigh a little more! I've used this several times and I honestly can't think of any shortcomings with it. So don't be hesitant to purchase it!

Adjustable book stand for reading
The book ledge with page holders was assembled backward when I received it from you. However, since I didn’t want to return it, wait for another one and since I know how to build things, I fixed it by drilling holes in the right places and screwed it together. I would suggest better quality control because it is a good product and I love how it stays in the right position and holds thick volumes of books. It’s sturdy and just what I was looking for. Thank you. Kathryn, Colorado

It’s worth the money
It’s very sturdy and works well for reading, I also use it to hold my phone at eye level. I purchased this after having neck surgery and have only one suggestion. I would appreciate it if you would consider widening the space pictured above so a charge cord could fit through. I’m sure I can have someone drill a hole for me but I hate to mar this lovely item.

You won't regret it, just buy it already!
I attached two pictures for you to see the mind of book it holds. I'm taking classes for medical coding. This book in the picture has just over 1,300 pages. So it's a big heavy book. This the 2nd stand I've bought on Amazon because the first time I went cheap and then this book wouldn't even fit. It held my smaller books, but I'd still get neck pain because it wasn't adjustable, it just held the book. This one has several height levels to prevent a stiff neck, I absolutely love this one. It's on the heavier side, which is good, it's very sturdy!! I read tons of reviews trying to find the perfect stand, ya'll this is the king of all stands!! Honestly if my desk was bigger I'd buy two more so I could have all my books out at once, since I flip through them constantly. Must buy, you won't regret it!!! Love it!

an honest book stand
I was looking for a book stand and I had a checklist: I wanted it to be small, aesthetically appealing, and preferably in a dark wood color. But I kept getting drawn back to the A+, which checks exactly none of those boxes. I finally succumbed and I'm glad I did: this is a fantastic book stand. You can definitely buy more conventionally attractive book stands but I defy you to find one that does what it's supposed to do better. The beauty of the A+ is the beauty of pure functionality: every aspect of it works exactly the way I want it to.Also: I lost one of the rubber tips from the metal arms that hold the pages in place and wrote the company. I got a personal reply and Dan sent me some replacements in the mail at no charge. They may sell these on Amazon but according to Dan this is a small family-run company and that's what the customer service feels like. What the book stand feels like is what your master carpenter friend would make for your birthday present after hearing you say you can't find a good book stand. Do I wish it came in a darker cherry wood stain to match my other furniture, or that the edges on the base of the stand were rounded? Sure, and if they ever add those features I'll happily give them more of my money. But over the past few months I've come to love this one in all its clunky utility and my head is no longer turned by sexier, svelter stands. I'm COMMITTED to this stand, is what I'm saying. If you want a book stand that will last the rest of your life made by people who actually care about what they're doing, look no further. (And if you want a shallow petite little shelf that looks nice, no judgment.)

WOW!!!!
This is the most beautifully made, functional book stand I have ever seen on the market.I was having bad neck and shoulder pain when studying my big bible. You will not be dissapointed. It is well worth the money. Particullarly because you have a height option, which is what I needed.Of course you dont want to use it as table decor when having guests over.I would recommend the Larger version if you have large books.I think I may order a few more as gifts for friends and family. This is an addition to my previous review. I was so excited to have recieved my book stand that I failed to notice a few things. I'm gonna let it slide this time however. I did noticed the pressed board is a little separated on the low left hand side of the board. It would be nice to see two black reinforcements on the bottom like you have on the top. Also you may want to reinforce the peg stopper as mine fell out after first use.Still a great functional product but there is room for a few tweaks to make it better!
