This is a beautiful piece of cookware. It was a great choice for homemade soups and stews. Great value for my money. I look forward to buying more pieces from Viking.

a really fine pot, suitable for stews, slow cooking, pasta etc. nicely made and finished, heavy, stainless indestructible, vented glass cover which can break but allows one to see inside without opening and losing heat. compact handles

I had this on my wishlist for years before finally buying it, and it's the best pot I've ever owned. It's exceptional. The heft, the shape, the conduction is exceptional (my stove is induction) My favorite pot ever. I purchased a Viking teapot from their website and it was so sleek, professional, elegant and worked so splendidly that I took my chances on this pot. Yes, it is pricey, but it's going to last me forever I can tell. It is worth the splurge. I'm saving up to replace every pot I own, one-by-one with a Viking equivalent.

Being in use for years in our busy kitchen with great results. Easy to clean sturdy and solid. One of the product which totally worth the money spent. Recommend. Must have for kitchen.

Perfect size for many of the recipes that I use

I'm giving this 4 stars. At least 2 stars are because it's pretty. It has a pleasing shape and a glass lid, and is sloped gently up the sides, and it's deep. As a Viking 3-ply, it's fairly heavy duty and thick enough on the bottom that food does not readily stick on. I make wild rice with chicken broth on the stovetop ('cause it doesn't work well in the rice cooker) and this pan does the job very well. I got rid of my calphalon non-stick chili pot and replaced it with this, because I was purging my kitchen of all non-stick cookware. I also make Mexican style rice in this pan - sauteeing the onions and then cooking the rice dry for a few mins to toast before adding the broth. One could make a small batch of chili in this, but I'd probably use one of my Le Creuset dutch ovens to do that because they're bigger.

I use this pan for everything. Perfect size and heat distribution is spot on. This is my go-to red sauce pan.
