Great quality! Love this!
This pan is great when you want a 3-D teddy bear. I wanted a cute cartoonish looking teddy bear for a baby shower cake and this pan definitely fit the bill. Just remember to use a pound cake type recipe in this pan. Otherwise your cake could buckle under it's own weight. Definitely loved this pan.The only con to this is because of the nature of the pans details it is a bit tough getting it greased and floured and getting it washed afterward. But that's a small inconvenience considering not having to stack and carve multiple cakes to make a teddy bear by hand.

Excellent birthday cake pan
I am glad I read all of the reviews, because when I went to the store and pulled the pans out of the boxes to check for dents, I found one on every one. But, nothing that couldn't be covered up by icing! Truthfully, I don't think many people would notice any of the dents once the cake is out of the pan, with or without icing! This pan does take some time and elbow grease to get right. I put the pieces together a couple days before I needed it, and familiarized myself with how to put the clamps on, and in what spots. I used pliers to bend some of the edges to make them fit together better. I also did a trial run, but used two regular cake mixes = the cake fell apart as soon as I took it out of the pan. It still tasted good though! For the main event I used a regular pound cake recipe and it worked fantastic!Decorating took about an hour, using Wilson's icing tips to make stars all over the bear. Not bad in my book!

Works well, not sure how long it will last (thin)
Easy to use, instructions very clear. I used Betty crackers super moist yellow cake mix. It required 6 3/4 cups but the box didn't make that much so I had to get another box. The instructions say fill bear with 6 cups cake mix and then 2/3rd cup into the plug for the bottom. I did that but the feet didn't fill out 100 percent as you can see inthe photos, but it was good enough for my first try.The pan came either a little scratched around the edge or the coati g didn't stick to all of it. It worked this time because it covered the cake part, but it concerns me that it won't last long. Also because the pan is very thin. It did the job but I'll update later if it starts falling apart. It didn't leak and gave me a super cute bear cake. I would buy it again for the price.

So cute!!
I read all the previous reviews and was so worried that I would mess up my son's first birthday cake. But I decided to give it a shot and try this pan. To be safe I did a trial baking yesterday and was so pleasantly surprised with the result.. The cake turned out so awesome and cute.. I combined a French Vanilla Baking mix with German Chocolate cake mix. The batter had the perfect consistency and raised wonderfully.. Yes it's true, it spilled out of the top and on two little parts of the side a little bit but that didn't do any damage to the final shape of the cake.. The only thing I could criticize is that I needed help to put on the clamps because they are so tight but I would still totally recommend this product because it's so easy to make such a cute shaped cake!

Works wonderfully
I was hesitant to order this pan because of the bad reviews but I’m not too sure what they are talking about now after using this pan myself. It isn’t thin or “foil like” like another reviewer mentioned. It’s sturdy and didn’t bend on me at all. I followed the instructions provided with the pan (including the recipe of using a heavy batter recipe such as pound cake, I did half pound cake half regular cake recipes) and it turned out amazing. Absolutely no spilling out of the bottom as other people had mentioned (this batter might have been too thin). It came out of the pan easy and I let it cool overnight before frosting for my sons 1st birthday. The only thing I wish is that I would have done a lighter brown frosting for the body, but now I know haha. I’m going to try and use this to make a Boov (from the movie Home) cake for my other sons 3rd birthday coming up.The only thing I wasn’t pleased with is the shipping. It was about three days later than the end of the shipping estimate and got here the day before my sons birthday. Almost too late.

PRACTICE using this MANY TIMES before using it for the main event!
I got this because my grandma used make me a bear cake every year for me when I was little. So, I got it to try to make one for my son... the pan I received was nothing like the one my grandma used to have. This pan is so THIN and FLIMSY and COULD BEND SO EASILY. I mean I can’t grab ahold of it and wash it without basically bending it a little. I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL to try not to bend it! I’m pretty disappointed in the quality honestly. It is definitely not a beginner’s pan, there are so many steps/little things to do to get it just right. I remember my grandma also had a love-hate relationship with it years ago because it didn’t always cooperate and was just tricky to use at times. My biggest struggle is getting it to stop leaking. I’ve tried the parchment paper trick/suggestion like the instructions mention and I’ve also tried using thicker batter. Yet it seems to always LEAK somewhere. I’ve ended up using METAL BINDER CLIPS as extra clips to hold the halves together in more places, it seems to help a little bit.

Everyone Loved the Christmas Bear
I bought this to make a Christmas Bear cake for my office Christmas Party. Everyone was very impressed. I used the cake mixture that was suggested in the instructions (part pound cake/part 1 layer cake). Had some difficulty getting the clips on, but using a pair of needle nose pliers helped a lot. I'm guessing placement of the clips is key to helping prevent spillage. Will have to work on this. I also had to bend some sections of the sides to make them meet to my standards (holding it together without batter inside showed some gaps). Not a big deal as pan is somewhat pliable. Core was a little bit of a pain, but that could be due to my lack of experience with this kind of cake pan. I put this bear cake on a 10" red velvet cake "base" since I wasn't sure of the head count. Turned out great. One warning though, give yourself plenty of time to decorate this. It took me 4.5 hours to put stars on (one star at a time). But having said that, I would definitely recommend this pan to anyone who bakes cakes.
