X Fasten Thermal Double-Sided Adhesive Tape, 1 Inch x 90 Feet, High Thermal Conductivity and Electrical Insulating Thermal Tape for LED Strips, 3D Printing Beds, Computer CPU, Heat Sinks

I use double sided tape to attach small sandpaper disks to a mandrel. When sanding, the sanding disk gets warm, then soft then slides off. The thermal tape stays in place and the disk does not slip off. Great for my application

So I purchased this tape to attach a small heatsink to the bridge chip on a dell Optiplex Z87 board that came with no cooling solution. After installing one piece fully covering the bottom of the heat sink I fixed the heat sink to the chip. I saw a pretty fantastic transfer of heat off the chipset with tells me the thermal transfer of temperature is fairly good. The tape is very tacky and should stick well to most surfaces. It is very thin though so if you plan on joining two surfaces that have a larger gap between them then maybe consider thermal pads. Overall I am pleased with its performance. As a side note I did test the electrical insulting properties of the tape and could not get a current to pass through it so it should be safe to use directly on electronics parts like capacitors, resistors and such.

The adhesion is terrible. Tape fell off a day after install and trying to get the blue cover off the double side is nearly impossible.Terrible product.

The reason I gave it a 4 is because it is really, really hard to peel off the backing. Also, once it's stuck, don't plan on removing it without damaging the surface. I've used a lot of high performance polymer tape, this has stood up to 100C temperatures for hundreds of hours, I had to use razor scrapers and solvents to get it off of the base plate. If you want tape that is permanent, this is it.

Would not hold up to the heat

Make sure you peel off the blue tape in a big section, I spent 2 hours fighting with this before I figured this out. Once I learned to peel off a huge section and cut the small pieces I needed I realized this is the best product out there for thermal adhesive tape! Overall very happy with this now.

Might could have a little more tack to it, but worked very well for my purpose.
