AmeriColor4-Color Soft Gel Paste Food Color Kit

I have always used the "w" brand. I am so very pleased with the vibrancy of these colors and the price. They are high quality and, add no taste. They are easy to use, and will be the brand I use from now on.

I needed these for my annual King Cake, and they worked out great. I used to be able to get them from a local specialty store but it went out of business, so I was thrilled to find them on Amazon. I ordered the basic set, so I had to mix the purple, but that was no biggie. If you are used to liquid food coloring, especially grocery store types, you will be amazed at how strong the colors can be.

I bought this pack of gel food coloring at a very low price and received them right away, so of course had to use them right away. My three year old granddaughter was here and we had a ball making a rainbow rolled cake together! The colors turned out so vibrant and we just used a couple of drops of each. Also as with regular liquid food coloring it did not make the batter runny. I will never go back to the old stuff. I would definitely buy again although with the generous amount you get and the small amount you have to use, I won't have to buy again for awhile.

I was struggling to get good true reds, oranges, etc icing. A friend recommended this brand, and I use so much less too!

I much prefer the gel as opposed to the regular food coloring, you just have to use a lot less to get much greater results. This pack is the perfect basic starter kit, which I used to make fake blood for a sci-fi short film. I made quite a lot of blood and my bottles of coloring are pretty much still full...I expect these to last me a long long time.

I haven't tried the food coloring yet but I had to point out that the colors don't match the ones listed in the product description. As of August 15th, the description states : "Super Red; Leaf Green; Lemon Yellow; Royal Blue" however the colors in the set are "Red Red" and "Sky Blue" (yellow and green match).I know the colors on the pics are also Red Red and Sky Blue but in similar instances when there were complaints that the items didn't fit the picture there was always the same response "it's not the picture that counts it's the description".So just a warning if some people were confused about the discrepancies between the pic and the description. In this particular instance, it's the pic that's right and not the description. You get Red Red, Leaf Green, Lemon Yellow and Sky Blue.

i love the idea that they are natural. that makes me feel much better about using this. i just wish the colors were more deep. the yellow looks pretty in the jar but then the color is like too yellow, like a light pastel, so you have to add some red it get it to be the color you would want if it looked like the outside. also the blue is not very dark. so of course when i used too much, it was like trying to get blood off my hands, particularly the red (when i was going for RED - not pink). kind of made me feel like a schmuck. or maybe just a craft schmuck.

I love love these dyes. They're so easy to use for baking, and the colors come out very true. (They also don't have that weird taste if you use a lot) I feel a little ashamed that I've been buying the liquid food coloring from the grocery store all these years now.
