One or two person assembly.
Two people make assembly easier, but not necessary. I put this together by myself. A rubber mallet is helpful. Instructions are not 100% clear. Numbers on the parts are not clear at all. It seems sturdy. I will be attaching it to my deck. Let’s see how it makes it through the summer.

Nice solid structure.
I am pleased with the product. I was able to assemble it quickly, and by myself. I actually bolted it to a header that I secured to the house, so it is rock solid. Comes with directions in the universal language - all pictures!

It's not a question of if, but when, the shade will rip
The frame of the sunshade was not very well constructed. There were several unintended bends in the tubing which required some strong finessing to get them to fit together.Additionally, the pre-drilled holes were in the wrong locations in more than one instance so I had to drill my own. If you're relatively handy you can eventually get the frame together and it does seem sturdy enough once complete. The actual fabric sunshade, however, is not great quality at all. I made it about a month of good use before some minor wind started a tear in the fabric. A light summer rain was enough to pool on top and rip the fabric clean off the border making the sunshade completely ineffective.I'm hoping Shelter Logic can make right with a replacement shade.UPDATE: Shelter Logic has issued a replacement shade very quickly. I think the shade itself needs a bit of reinforcing, but I'm increasing the stars for the stellar customer service.

Cannot withstand rainfall!
This product is one to skip I’m afraid. Save your money - the seller will not help you when their product fails within 90 days.First of all it’s not *that* easy to assemble. Several parts of the metal framework were slightly bent when the arrived making it very difficult to slot together. WD40 and a lot of determination were required and I still couldn’t quite get every joint to fit perfectly. Nevertheless the framework was sturdy.Initially this looked great on our SE facing deck providing shelter from the strong sun of Philadelphia’s late summer, and allowing us to still use the deck in light to modest rain fall. The problems started with the first thunderstorm that brought heavy rain. While the canopy, pulled taught by numerous bungee cords is supposed to readily drain down hill, the middle section starts to bow inward during heavy rain forming a reservoir that rapidly captures large volumes of rainwater (multiple cubic feet) and does not drain without being lifted upwards manually.During the second thunderstorm since installation the fabric of the canopy started to tear the grommets due to the weight of the rainwater it had captured and now looks unsightly with an ugly gash where the canopy is torn on one side. The sellers are not interested in replacing or repairing, or offering any ideas how to improve the drainage from their product. Basically ‘it’s on you - tough luck’.So unless you live in Arizona or Palm Springs and thus tend to get a thunderstorm and heavy rain skip this product it’s not fit for purpose for 90% or more of the climatic conditions of the country. If the canopy tore after three years weakened by blazing hot sun and downpours that would be one thing, but this product lasted exactly two Philadelphia thunderstorms before going kaput - beyond disappointing.

Keystone Kops Assembly Helps
I wanted a cover over my exterior A/C unit. This will certainly do that job and more. It appears to be sturdy enough to handle a little sun, wind and rain. It is not easy to put together if you're not mechanically inclined. But no real tools are needed. Tried to proceed with a plan of one area, then the next. Worked pretty well. I was so, so tempted to put it all back in the box a couple of times, but had a beer and things worked out.Follow-up. All up and looks great and works fantastic!! Highly recommend, but be patient with the project. Much can be one person, but eventually the weight and awkwardness will require you to reach out for a second pair of arms!

Poor Quality Control
First time to purchase the seller canceled my order due to quality of product. This (Second) seller sent two defective pieces: one had no holes for attaching to other pieces, the other was dented so it could not be connected and it had extra holes. Many of the good pieces had no number labels...important for putting together. The manufacturer sent me two new pieces within a week and one of the pieces already had rust inside. I would have made my purchase directly from the manufacturer, except that they charged more plus wanted shipping fee for this heavy material. The canvas top is only 5 x 9, so it is good that I pre-ordered a 6 x 10 canvas (white for reflectivity) from another Amazon vendor.Between lack of numbers, omission of which vertical pieces to connect, and my aging brain, I put this together wrong, but eventually got it right. It was very heavy to construct, expect with my errors, but I, a very senior female, got it together by myself! It is just what I needed, as I wanted water to slope away from my sliding door and wanted to reduce the sun. The HOA won't let us attach anything to the building. It is a far far better product than the 5 x 8 grill gazebos, which DO RUST, yet I wonder if it will rust inside and stain my deck.Nevertheless, I love it. It is worth the agony!
