I got this for removing used, dirty oil and adding clean oil, when pouring it in by hand and or pouring it out is a messy and needlessly laborious job. I use it for my chainsaw, outboard's lower unit, lawn mower, power washer and a few other things. Removing the old dirty oil is simple, using the syringe and tube to suck it out. Adding clean oil is just as simple. Fill syringe and squirt it in, using the plastic tube if needed. It works great!

I bought this after watching a Youtube video on how to water large houseplants. Mine are too heavy to move, so I have to water them in place, and a lot of the water runs through the dry soil to the bowl below the plant. The video did not show this large size, but I though it would be too slow to try to drain the excess water using the smaller syringe. I was able to put the fit the pieces together (though there were no instructions) and I tried it.First, it works. The syringe pulls the excess water from the pan.Second, it's not easy. The rubber around the plunger is very tight and it takes a lot of muscle to pull the plunger back and extract the water. Also, the metal end isn't heavy enough to stay in place, so I had to find a way to keep it in the water while I used both hands (and all my might) to pull back the plunger.Overall, it's nice to have a reliable way to drain the excess water from the plant pan, but I wish it were easier. Maybe I should have bought the smaller unit. Even if I had to fill it five or six times, it might have been faster than filling the large one once or twice.Revised review:I originally gave this 3 stars because I found it very difficult to use, but I'm revising this review because I figured out the problem. Instead of using the plastic tubing, I just fastened the metal end to the spout and the whole process became much easier. The reason it was so difficult was that drawing the water through the tubing was slow and exhausting. Since there were no instructions, I didn't realize that there were different ways to set it up, and since I don't need the tubing to drain my planter pans, this works well for my purposes. I still can't give it five stars due to the lack of good instructions.

I have an indoor tree that is quite heavy. When I go to water it, my husband takes it off its normal ceramic dish and puts it onto one of those clear big plastic ones. I then water the tree, and the clear dish catches the excess. I like to keep the dish relatively dry, though, so my tree isn’t just sitting in a big puddle all day (until my husband can help me move it back to its ceramic dish), so I use this to collect the water. I saw a YT video of someone doing the same thing, and this gadget works perfectly.

Just what I needed, works well

I purchased this for cooking and adding sauces to food. It seemed to work fine the first use when I poured the sauce into the back of the open syringe. The second use I used the tube and it seemed to work fine again. The third use I used the tube again and it was very difficult to pull the plunger. So hard that the rubber ring pulled loose from the plunger. I was able to reassemble it, but now there is a section of the syringe where the plunger fit is too loose. So when I push the plunger I have to put a lot of force behind it at first until I get to that section and it then shoots forward. After cleaning sauce off of my cabinets, I've decided to buy a different syringe.
