You'll wonder how you did without this tool!
I had to buy three kits to make it entirely through my very long dryer vent, but I think it was worth the cost to save the life of my dryer! I couldn't believe all the lint in my vent! Using this with your drill really gives the vent a good scrub too (read the instructions about which way to turn the rod with your drill)! I had to run it all one direction (from the house to the outside all one way instead of pulling it back into the house) because it did tend to want to hang up on some screws and things sticking up through the vent where connections were made. (I should say that my vent does not go out up to my roof, but runs horizontal out from the crawl space to the outside via the house foundation.) But it was a doable job—and resourceful women out there can do this like I did! It absolutely saved my dryer and quite possibly could have headed off a fire. My dryer used to get fiery hot on the top and sides and now it's completely cool to the touch all through the dry cycle. The dry time is much reduced and that saves me money. Also, I notice a marked increase in airflow from the outside vent. I think I'll need to keep up the cleaning every six months to keep it cleared out. I'm very good about cleaning lint from the screen after every load, but it's amazing how much lint builds up even so in the vent pipe! The kit is easy to assemble and disassemble. As stated, make sure you set your drill to go the direction as the packaging says or you'll get your sections/brush unscrewed in the vent! When ordering, measure your vent length as much as you can. I miscalculated the first time and had to order another kit, which wasn't ideal as it took two sessions. Should last for some time if someone doesn't get impatient and manhandle it.

Awesome! Saved me $30 just on the first cleaning. Caution: requires use of brain...
This is a great product! Did the job very easily and no problems. The good:- price - at $21, it's totally worth it, even if you only use it once.- soft bristles so it's pretty much impossible to damage any part of the ductwork.- rods are very flexible so can bend around corners- 12' is long enough for most ductsThe bad:- nothingConsiderations:- if you need more than 12', you have to buy another 12'. I wish they would sell extensions in 6' kits, or maybe an 18' brush kit option.- This is not "industrial-grade" so you have to be a little careful when using it. This is NOT a complaint - a heavy-duty version would cost $100 or more, and I'm happy to only pay $21 and get what I need.- you have to turn it ONLY CLOCKWISE. It's designed for use in a drill while spinning in the standard right-turning, clockwise direction. If you turn it backwards, it will unscrew the rod sections and the brush will be stuck in the duct.- use a cordless drill with a clutch and set the clutch low. Then if you encounter resistance, you won't risk breaking the rods or brush. It should turn very easily if you're doing it right.- clean a 2' section of duct at a time. Start with one section of rod hooked to the drill, run it, pull the brush out, and let all the loose lint blow out of the pipe. Then screw on one more section of rod on and repeat until you have reached the end of the duct. As it scrapes lint off the duct walls, it will build up in front of the brush, which is why you have to keep pulling it out and feeding it back in. This is not a design flaw, just the nature of the beast.- you can work this by hand, but it won't get as clean, and you will need to use more of a in/out motion while turning slowly clockwise.- I have seen several negative reviews saying things came off stuck in the duct or it wouldn't work by hand. I am pretty convinced that all of these people are clearly not thinking nor reading instructions before use, or have improper expectations of how such a device should perform. An indestructible rod/brush would end up tearing the duct loose, which would be far worse than buying a new $20 brush kit.

Amazing...until the brush head falls off
When we replaced our dryer we decided to replace the old semi rigid vent with a solid vent pipe and bought this brush. We have a large family so I do laundry every day. The dryer will complain with a code if it wants me to clean the duct. I usually notice that the laundry isn't drying as quickly before the dryer complains and we clean the duct, problem solved. It's absolutely amazing what this brush cleans out of the dryer vent! I've told family members about it and asked how often they clean their dryer vent duct. "Never" is the common response. If you've never cleaned your vent duct, you need this product!! We clean ours at least 2-3 times a year now.I recommend taping the connections before you start using it each time just to make sure the sections don't come apart. The last time we used it the brush head came off in the vent duct. Took a bit of work to get it back out. Other than that, it's perfect!
