The Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Solution: The Essential Guide to Overcoming Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia, Made Easy!

Great Intro book on diagnosing & treating CFS!
Great book on getting the answers you need when it comes to chronic fatigue. Very practical, a bit humorous, and very helpful when it comes to questions such as "do I have CFS, or is it my thyroid or depression?" "What causes it?" "Why can't I sleep very well?" "Where did this extra 25 lbs come from?" "Why does exercise make me feel worse instead of better?" "How can I get my old energy back?", and so on. It is a lot easier read than his much longer book, 'From Fatigued to Fantastic!', sticking more to practical advice and less on the technical details of medical studies, but it covers all the same stuff. Dr.Teitelbaum also has a few YouTube videos that are hard to find (one was under Douglas Lab's channel), but worth watching if you want a cliff notes version of his books.Since all this info on CFS is 10+ years old, and a good percentage of American middle-aged people have it (&90+% carry the viruses), my own question is why is it no one at Kaiser (my huge HMO) knows anything about treating CFS?...or any other similar smoldering Epstein-Barr (or related) virus infection? Their EBV Lab test is either postive or negative, with no 'inbetween' result or actual viral count noted, so all these tired &sick people end up untreated, or misdiagnosed as depressed or something else. It just is not right, especially after paying $500+/mo for 'Health Care'.Dr. Montoya's group at the top-rated Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto is one of the few MDs who are on top of it. NDs are more knowledgeable on CFS than most MDs, but blame too much on hormones (a 1950's medical fad) and not the EB virus.(Yes, 'menopause symptoms' like fatigue, hot flashes, just started showing up in medical literature in the 1950's, and are from a variation of the EBV, which can stay dormant in the body for 40+ years, just like its cousin, the Shingles virus). This book tells you how to reverse them all, in about 3-12 months (18 for severe cases), since it seems staying healthy & energetic is all up to you. This book greatly helps. And yes, CFS is not all in your head, or depression. It IS viral-based, and very real. Yes, it is Epigentics based, too, in that viral DNA combines with your own DNA. 'Heredity' causes are mostly from mothers kissing their babies & feeding the same sort of foods (which may have mineral imbalances or shortages), so the diseases do run in families. They say it will take around 20 years for the Health Care system to catch up with treating the various viruses. Can you wait that long?If you do find a supportive doctor to help you, it usually means they have already read Dr. Teitelbaum's books. :-)

Great guide on fatigue, easy to use.
Last Saturday, Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum was a guest on my hour long radio show. Dr. Teitelbaum is also a frequent guest on the Dr. Oz show. The Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Solution is wonderful and great guide on how to work through fatigue. His SHINE program is easy to follow and very helpful even if you are fortunate NOT to suffer from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. There's no doubt we all can get a better nights worth of sleep and have more energy through the day. Dr. Teitelbaum spells it out in simple terms and shows you what to do. So what do you do when your lab tests come back normal and you still feel fatigued? Dr. Teitelbaum shows you how to treat the symptoms based on how you feel, not what the lab tests show. What is normal test values for some may not be normal for you.Of note, Dr. Teitelbaum clearly states in his book that the royalty he earns goes to charity. I highly recommend this book.Mimi StoneburnerHost of the Body Talk Health Show

Don't Let It Control You
First off, I'd like to say, for so long, doctors have kind of blown this off for years as something in our heads as they have other issues such as female heart attack symptoms. This is just another example of a person knowing what they physically feel is going on in there body and not being taken seriously by the medical field. When enough of us holler about it, they begin to listen, hence the drug " Lyrica". This book was fantastic. There is way too much to get into in about it, but I will say this........you truly understand why and what to do about this pain in the ass issue. I feel so much more like myself now after so long thinking that only another pill was my cure. Remember, your mind really controls it all. If you can get behind that, everything else falls into place.

A very detailed book covering fatigue and fibromyalgia problems, and then what to do.
During now 9 years I have been fighting the problem with constant pain in my right hand, or more correctly the brain is telling me that I there this pain. That’s how it has been since by an accident the arm was broken and thereby the nerves were stretched and then cut over on a sharp corner on the shoulder, the shoulder there being misconnected by a doctor a few years before. And then, besides of this, it here in Thailand took months to find a doctor for reconnecting the nerves, as in the actual hospital they told me that nerves cannot be reconnected! And as the result of this, and other mistakes in the original hospital, the brain newer relearned more than 1/3 of the length in the nerves down to the hand. And therefore, I have this constant brain believed pain in the right hand. And as I wasn’t born in either England or USA, and without my mother language being English, then during the years where I have been searching after books about pain, didn’t find help for solving my problem, until first some weeks ago when I discovered that instead of searching after books titled pain, I should go searching after books titled fibromyalgia; that is about incomprehensible pains/not clearly detectable reasons. And now a week ago I, as the first book concerning fibromyalgia, then received this one, and must say that I by this book I here got much new knowledge, long missed information, and it looks like I’m now on the right trail. But now I then will have to see if I in the pharmacies can get what is mentioned in the book, as for example the D-ribose 5-gram. Because it’s the problem that here in Thailand we are not allowed in buying even simple vitamin pills from other countries (once Amazon told me this), as for example vitamin K2, even though it doesn’t exist out here, and the doctors don’t know about this one, and the those of the other vitamins and minerals which we also are missing.Again, I am very impressed by the much good content in the book, and have ordered one more of his book. And besides, I also like the way in which he tells that first he searches after help in solving problems by searching after help from nature, as herbs, before going after drugs. Besides he also writes that too often syndromes are treated by surgery. Just as spoken out of my throat.

What an important read for those struggling with fatigue and FM
I was recently provided a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by a local Internal Medicine specialist. He said there was no cure or treatment. My family doctor had no suggestions for treatment other than for me to contact a local research University to see if there were any support groups. Useless information. Several years ago a friend recommended I look up Dr. T as he is an expert in Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, general daily fatigue. The information in this book is invaluable and has provided me with a treatment plan. For the past month I have been following some of the recommendations from this book and it is already making a difference. I have struggled with acute fatigue for over 15 years and I finally now have reliable research from a medical professional (Dr.T.)who provides treatment information and a framework for helping move forward towards a life with less fatigue and pain. My daughter suffers as well so I purchased a copy of this book for her and she has started to implement some of the protocols that Dr. T. recommends. The book is an easy read, with so much information, that I am reading it a second time and taking notes.

Well Worth The Money. Not A Cure But An Improvement.
I got this for a friend who has severe fibromyalgia. After years going to the doctors and not much improvement I saw this book. It has certainly inspired her to get to grips with the problems and she is finding it the best read on the problems sufferers face. Time will tell but even the small improvement already is worth the few pounds this book costs.
